Humbled to live in an era where a special human being can create something that captures your soul across the world with help from @drip_haus & @mallowdotart.

I voted for degen poet in the Solana Artist Award at @SolanaConf. 🏆 solana.com/breakpoint/awards…
2 of my largest art collections are finalists
i genuinely adore sirius crocodile
but this year
i must vote DEGEN POET for solana artist award
... that is once the site allows votes
Justification:
1. Averages 1 minted artwork per 1.78 days since 2023.04.17
2. Activated the art space through poet toads collection
3. Sold a poet toad for 39 SOL / 4,270 USDC during my first bear market year and seemingly bleak onchain art space
4. Activated a secondary market on Mallow (pretty much the key indicator of a great product)
5. Community engagement, sparking camaraderie, and activating new interest
2026 goes to Degen Poet.

luck has it
that web3 art
is unique
complicated by social media
where opinions run deep
collectors, ... just people
irl strangers
out to find their own beeple
behind the pfp art they align with
an occasional thought to shine with
I constantly wonder what people think of the person that is the profile of “luck”. I wonder what preconceived things they have about me like I catch myself having of others. I wonder if they know I’m just a guy that works construction everyday and has debt and is full of worry and uncertainty just like the rest of us.
Social media tends to show the best parts but the rest is the same as the rest. I spent a lot of time even being able to have extra income. My frivolity comes in the shape of supporting artists that I connect with, through the work first, then usually later through shared values.
Being given a feeling is sometimes the most priceless thing you can have. And realizing that they, the same as me, are just trying to be noticed and seen and understood in a world that demands you survive via monetary goals was an important step for me personally.
I suppose the point is, let your art shine. Let it speak for itself. Dont be beholden by others to create what and when you feel. Expression confined by other structures is only a semblance of expression. And I get that it’s easy for me to say outside the circle. But just some thoughts.
Collection: Typers 1
Artwork Reference: Berkin Punk
my fav typers from this artwork reference
only own 1 of these 3 shown
@dato_art's georgious "long march" got me thinking of one from the dp archives...
i don't know why but i never noticed the cryptopunk white out heads in this OG DP EA artwork,
"Berkin Punk"
(partly due to me not knowing what a cryptopunk was and understanding them)
but it reminded me of a more recent (2026.07.14) "Symmetry Won't Save You"
this such a great piece from the archives
i can't track down the owner, but i want it
i've been studying @solanapoet for a while
his twitter, his diary
his artwork, his soulbound communication
as with many artists
he translates emotions, inspiration, and growth
into colors and forms
but dp uses a typewriter, which offers quite a unique opportunity to add glimpses of thoughts
a stanza of poetry
through hammering characters on actual paper
a manual, mechanical, loud, and labor intensive process
very few truly have endured
(shoutout to @GoldmanStash)
and close to NONE at this level of complexity
the last toad, moltres, was dp's fuego phoenix rebirth
a sad truth is when you stare at the future of death
it tends to puts priorities into perspective
dp isn't going anywhere
expressing himself through art fills his lungs with oxygen
he needs it to breath
he needs it to live
onto the current (less than 2 1/2hr) @mallowdotart auction artwork
"free yourself"
- i know the dog is not the centerpiece but this dog is typed immaculately
"dress"
- renaissance paintings/sculptures always captured my attention with the folds from clothing, a snapshot of movement, the energy and flow of something whimsical
green ink usage
- look at the hands throughout, made period by period, dot by dot
kermit the toad cameo
- look at that green plant of whatever special character that is growing out of the 'vase'
the typewriter is one with dp
and dp is one with the typwriter

i’m sorry for all that didn’t make the name drop &/or collab list
this took a considerable amount of time focused brain power
just completing 23 of these was ambitious for me
just know that i have nothing but love and respect for each and every
Poet Toads holder
Poet Toads collab artist
Toads inspired artist
Art supporter/collector
... and every single artist just trying to show the world what they are about
the oil pastel animation in the background is alone a work of art that i'd buy by itself
but just look at this mean muggin face
... and if you paid attention to yesterday's AMA regarding princess zelda toad's ampersand character in the eye
you'll see that conversation hammered into moltres' pupils
this is a short auction window!
5 1/2 hrs to get it at its lowest
