The BBC News theme like you've never heard it before - performed by @OwainWynEvans and a group of his fellow drummers as part of his 24-hour Drumathon.

When I drew up my wish list of drummers to photograph for this project, Charlie Watts was right at the very top. Go well Charlie.

I played drums with Public Image Ltd at Alton Towers supporting James in '92. Went and said hello to them backstage & ribbed the drummer saying,' Hey you, stop ripping of my beats!' and sang - 'Panic on the streets of Lon-don...sit down next to me'. He didn't laugh.

Who are your favourite drummers from Liverpool/Merseyside? Ringo is a given, obviously...

We lost Roger Hawkins yesterday. He was 75. As drummer for the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, he backed up Etta, Aretha, Cher, Percy Sledge, Wilson Pickett, and so many others. I made this for @TIDAL: 30 tracks with Roger on drums. No one did it like Roger. tidal.com/playlist/41f9df10-…

And episode three of the @FlashWallop podcast is Andy Paresi talking about Bucks Fizz, Morrissey and @StreetStephen - worth listening to if only for my splicing of Andy drumming on his kitchen table with his studio drumming on November Spawned A Monster. podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcas…

Enjoyed the @PodsUpnorth zoom this afternoon. Inspired me to look at my analytics for the @FlashWallop podcast - utterly dismal! Please have a wee listen to my first three episodes - first up is @mikejoycedrums, where we talk Buzzcocks, Smiths and more... podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcas…
Sending good wishes and positive vibes to @Tuwhit2Whoo right now. His name came up as a massive influence for several drummers in the @FlashWallop project last year - take care of yourself Budgie!

If I can't have Andy and Sting then I'll need three soul singers and sixty orcs.
