I have been playing @Showdown_TCG a ton lately and really enjoying it. Looking forward to today's highstakes tournament. Game is great mix of Magic and poker, completely free and runs smoothly + instantly in browser. Proud of my friends they managed to build something like this

You can try it here: play.showdown.game/?code=fla… Use the best code Flash which nets you extra rewards and most importantly, incredible luck!

And quickly before I lose it, here is a screenshot with me as #1 ELO player! Small caveat is that I am crushing free games and losing $100 ones, but "luckily" ELO doesn't care for that :D

A few years ago I finished game Return of the Obra Dinn (detective game). Then I kept thinking about how awesome the game/music was, to the point that enough time passed by and I realized I finally don't remember enough so that I could replay it. It was somehow better second time

"We" is for the IRS when we win the lottery
“We” is only for when I punt on stream. 🤝

If you’re fine with mass surveillance because you’re “not doing anything wrong,” just wait until they redefine what “wrong” means.

I got baited by the vintage cube and played 10 direct runs. Won 7 boxes, played 63 games and had 71 % winrate (45-18). No idea what this spiderman set is, I am sure that set is great and these boxes will be very expensive!

My top 4 decks, first two screenshots were 7-1 runs and the other two were 6-2

As I am falling asleep at 3am while thinking about Arena Directs, I just realized that you should be drafting these differently than normal money draft cubes. “This deck will be insane if I get a Brain Freeze, otherwise it can’t win” is great in direct, bad in normal draft

This comes from tail-end distribution of rewards. Flipping between having 0 or 100 % WR deck results in lower match winrate than consistent 51 % deck, but nets more boxes

I spent 15 years competing professionally in chess, Magic, poker, and Hearthstone. Now I'm building the competitive game I always wanted to exist. @Showdown_TCG Read the full story👇

@Showdown_TCG weekly money leaderboard, Flash made $1,274 in 154 games. That's over $8 per game, ~$50 per hour of gameplay.

I posted long explanation with my math on FB (last person on earth writing there), but I will try to go with TLDR. EV of the ticket is 1 mill, but high variance - let's lower variance with lower EV. Your personal utility curve and mix of current/future net worth are important.
For Christmas you received "The Golden Ticket". You can use it in a casino and they will let you roll a six-sided die once. If you roll 6, you will receive 6 000 000 dollars. Otherwise nothing. What is the LOWEST price that YOU would be willing to sell your golden ticket for?

Person with net worth $200 000 should sell for $290 000 with range 156k - 420k based on risk appetite. Bottom of range is for people with logarithmic utility - scared of losing, and top is for those with high risk tolerance

Person with net worth $2 000 000 should sell for $620 000 with boundaries 512k — 722k. EV is no longer multiples of everything you own, so losing won't hurt as much and you can take much larger chunk of EV instead of wasting it on insurance
