Carrick after literally giving a farewell tour after the last match
Michael Carrick stays in charge of Manchester United after talks yesterday including Ratcliffe, Glazers, Berrada, Wilcox. Surprising call after Bournemouth but there is clarity now, in short-term at least. Fascinating few days ahead ⬇️ #MUFC nytimes.com/athletic/7726768…

Why is the guy who spread fake news to kickstart the genocide and then has consistently supported the genocide, allowed to feign empathy and talk to Palestinian ambassador?
Brillant school of @AdityaRajKaul by the Palestinian ambassador

Unreal company man, everytime I feel I should have invested way more than the miniscule amount I put 3/4 years ago, it goes up by 15% and I regret it.
Just in: Ather Energy turns profitable in Q2 FY27 Revenue: Rs 1,464 Cr Profit: Rs 1.26 Cr (Rs 154 Cr loss in Q2 FY26)

Been advised for the longest time to put emergency funds in liquid funds instead of savings account but learnt a lesson on how its not exactly liquid because if I redeem it on a Friday night, I won't get the money to spend till Tuesday.

Apps like Rapido's Ownly are about 40-50% cheaper than Swiggy/Zomato for some places at the moment. But that's where Swiggy/Zomato were a few years ago. Is this just a cycle to be continued until all investors in this space run out of money

Graeber was a good guy but unfortunately his most famous book is the most unserious work done by any serious man. Its basically a rant about all types of jobs he doesn't like that goes on for far too long without any coherence of thought.
Will “bullshit jobs” survive AI?-:)

OTOH it might be weirdly relevant in the AI world as the tasks he mentions are more or less the kind of things society would be fine delegating to AI if we could, so its like a nice grouping that way lol

Tbf The Quint has ensured the interview is unreadable
Replying to @gautambhatia88
It’s also clear that most people foaming at the mouth haven’t actually read the interview, because once you get past the first couple of questions, the other 90% is a critique of the centralising features of the constitution and a discussion of institutional political structures.

So in India, if you make anti liberal, anti secular, anti democracy and anti-constitution arguments, you are kept in Jail for years without trial or... put in power like our current rulers?
1/5 Sharjeel Imam has given an interview detailing his Islamist manifesto. Surprisingly, no storm has been kicked up over pronouncements that are so unapologetically anti-liberal, anti-secular, anti-democracy, anti-Constitution—in a word, anti-national. 2/5 He openly calls the Constitution fascist, labels secularism a trap, and denounces democracy as a contrivance to deny Muslims their political rights. 3/5 The piece is a litany of indictments against the liberal class. Imam rejects any difference between liberals and Hindutvadis. In his essentialist worldview, all Hindus are the same, unanimous in denying Muslims political power they claim as a divine right. 4/5 Inadvertently, Sharjeel has recognised something that liberals have been fighting shy of acknowledging: that Hindutva’s idea of India is anchored in the same “overarching nationalist framework”— that Muslims are Indians above all else. 5/5 For more, read this Opinion article by Ibn Khaldun Bharati, who looks at Islam from an Indian perspective: Sharjeel Imam’s Islamist manifesto will be forgotten. The silence of liberals will not theprint.in/opinion/sharjeel…

At the risk of scaremongering, we are going to go through the worst summer next year where no place in India would have enough water left. Its barely the end of monsoon and drought has already started in some places, water levels are anywhere between 5-50% lower than expected.

Bangladesh is not growing faster than India. Vietnam is growing faster, true that. But if Modi implements Vietnam like norms for Industries, you will feel chillipaste in your ass... We want labour law like Europe and growth like China/Vietnam... Nahi ho payega guru.

I recently looked into because I was curious, Mumbai is about 2x as expensive for renting a house compared to fucking New York if you normalise the income. Buying is house is obviously impossible but so is renting.
For past 1 year been observing more 40-50 year old delivering from Swiggy/Blinkit etc in Mumbai. Just out of curiosity started asking them questions and turns out delivering is the 2nd job they do from 6pm to 2am with a common statement “Its unaffordable to live in Mumbai”

Same thing happened to me in 2019 except I came to know right after I paid the fine that this is actually a known trick by Budapest to fleece their tourists. They know this has been happening for a long time and refuse to change their process.
One thing that can catch Indians off guard while travelling in Europe is how strictly the rules are enforced. On my last trip, I bought a tram ticket in Budapest. You're supposed to validate the physical ticket using a machine inside the tram before travelling. I knew this, but the machine was quite different from what I'd seen elsewhere in Europe. I couldn't figure out how to use it, and with the tram crowded, I decided to wait and see how someone else did it. Before someone jumps into the comments saying I was trying to travel without a ticket or bypass the system, NO I wasn't. I had bought my ticket, and I knew validation was mandatory. I just couldn't figure out how that machine worked. Before I could, a ticket inspector showed up. I explained the situation, but she was very clear. Having a ticket wasn't enough. It had to be validated too. I tried reasoning with her, but there was no getting around the rule. I ended up paying a fine of 12,000 HUF, roughly ₹3,500. The experience made me realise how differently we're conditioned in India. We're so used to negotiating our way out of situations. We explain what happened, give reasons, ask someone to let it slide, or try to find a workaround. Our negotiating skills can often influence the outcome back home. In many European cities, you shouldn't expect that to work. The rules are clearly defined, and people enforcing them may not make exceptions just because you made an honest mistake.

Delhi police can find protestors in planes and toilets but can't find rapists on the streets
As Abhijeet Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das landed in Delhi, police entered their flight. Don't miss the ANI mic inside the plane.

SUSPEND Ravindra Salunkhe NOW! Scrutinise all data requests he has sent to Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. I bet this wasn’t the first time he tried to fraudulently access private citizens’ data by sending tech companies notices with false claims. @CPMumbaiPolice @AddlCPWestMum
⚠️ After I criticised Fadnavis & Bandra Police, Sr PI Ravindra Salunkhe of @BandraPS requested X for my details by falsely claiming that I’m the main accused in an online sextortion case. @CPMumbaiPolice @DcpWestZone2 @AddlCPWestMum were you aware of Salunkhe’s fraud? Any action?

But I am sure the contractor got paid tens of lakhs for putting it up and the contractor surely paid the local politician hefty bribe as well so its okay, it added to the GDP growth.

Hundreds, if not thousands, eat in places like Kyani everyday. Who will be held accountable from FDA for allowing this to happen for so long?
FDA has suspended the FSSAI licence of popular eatery Kyani & Co. in Kalbadevi with immediate effect after an inspection on September 27 found several serious hygiene and food safety violations. Inspectors found cats, rat droppings, live flies and dead cockroaches in the food preparation and storage areas. A large amount of blood had accumulated inside a refrigerator, while an open sewage manhole was found in the processing area. Officials also found food stored directly on the floor, raw dough covered with printed newspaper, staff not following required hygiene practices or using personal protective equipment, and improper segregation of raw and ready-to-eat food. In view of the deficiencies and the potential risk to consumers, the establishment’s FSSAI licence (No. 11517001000318) has been suspended under Section 32(3) of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
