There’s nothing more sanctifying or that causes you to confront your own inadequacies more than your spouse holding up the mirror and grabbing your hand to pull you up when you’re a lesser version of who you’re meant to be.
Merely replacing your spouse with a different person takes that experience away entirely, and leaves you in an infantilized relationship that will never meaningfully progress.
