🚨BREAKING: Knox County Commissioner Drenda Keesee, a MAGA Republican elected in 2024, is under fire after her son Gary “Tom” Keesee Jr. was found guilty on all 27 counts of s*xually abusing children, including 11 r*pes.
Multiple witnesses at trial — including family members and, according to the county GOP, her own daughter — testified that she was aware of the abuse and failed to stop it or report it to authorities. The Knox County Republican Party itself called for her immediate resignation, citing the sworn testimony and her pattern of missing meetings.
Keesee and her husband co-founded and still lead Faith Life Church, where their son previously served as a youth pastor and media director before resigning in 2024. The abuse did not occur on church property, but much of it happened in the family home and involved girls connected to the church community.
While the son faces a potential life sentence, he remains free on bond until January sentencing. Drenda Keesee has not been charged, but the testimony and the GOP’s own demand for her resignation raise sharp questions about accountability for a Republican official who campaigned on law and order and Christian family values while allegedly knowing her son was r*ping children.
Drenda Kesee made protecting children from “transgender ideology” and drag queens central campaign themes while promoting “traditional” Christian family values. She made this her public persona all while allegedly doing nothing to stop her own son from s*xually abusing children.
Voters and local leaders are now asking the obvious: if the evidence is this clear, why is she still in office? Also, why hasn’t she been charged?
It’s amazing what you can get away with when you’re a good ol’ Christian conservative who claims you’re on “God’s” side.

so many evangelicals have embraced rapists, pedophiles, and bullies as fellow christians but then claim any lifelong christian who is slightly more politically left than them isn’t a christian and then have the audacity to be shocked when so many people leave evangelicalism

New Life Chapel, a megachurch in Ohio, fired its founder, Lonnie Snell, for sexual misconduct with an unnamed subordinate — then discouraged congregants from looking into what happened.
If you don't want congregants to ask questions, tell them what happened. And if the person involved in sexual misconduct was a subordinate, call the misconduct what it is: clergy sexual abuse.
This is not complicated. But the church's handling of the issue is not surprising. Sadly, it's all too common, especially at churches with poor church governance. New Life has no local elders; the only overseers are pastors at other churches who have little contact with the congregation.

Um, have you read the Bible?
Also, several of things exist or have existed in this country with Christianity as the justification.
To this day, 32 states still allow child marriage. We've banned it in 18 states. Can you guess who the biggest supporters of child marriage are?
