Thank you to Denver and D.C. voters for rejecting the cruelty of foie gras and voting to protect ducks and geese. Let’s see more cities follow!
VICTORY: Colorado rejects Amendment 83, defeating the so-called “right to hunt and fish” measure.
FoA rallied its members for this hard-fought victory for Colorado’s wildlife. Thank you to everyone who used their voice and their vote to protect animals!

Though at least two Barn Owls showed briefly on Monday night by the water tank, time spent there has been dropping. The young have been flying for a month now, and it's time for them to start venturing farther from the tank and hunting for themselves. 🦉 🧡
Ducks and geese have pipes shoved down their throats and are force-fed to swell their livers, then slaughtered for foie gras. Torturing animals for an appetizer is indefensible. Denver and D.C. voters, vote YES to get this cruelty off the menu.
Voters in Denver and Washington, D.C. have the chance to stand up against animal cruelty and choose compassion by voting to ban the sale of foie gras.
📍 Denver: Vote YES on 331
📍 Washington, D.C.: Vote YES on i-86
Let’s get these bans across the finish line! 🦆 #BanFoieGras #Denver #WashingtonDC
Environmentalists or so-called "terrorists"—according to Donald Trump—do get a say in the future of this earth and its environment, air, and water. It belongs to all of us. The power to protect it must not go unused. VOTE!
All seven barn owls from Manhattan’s first recorded nest have been spotted alive after construction workers recklessly removed the roof of their nesting site. FoA wants the landlord to be held accountable for breaking the law. Read our full blog here: friendsofanimals.org/rare-ny…
Great news!
🦉UWS Barn Owl Update: OWL ACCOUNTED FOR
All 7 owls (2 adults + 5 fledglings) were spotted on Sunday night.
They seem to no longer be using the water tank to roost. Feedings are taking place elsewhere according to @nycbirdalliance.
The owls appear to be adjusting to their new circumstances and have found alternative roosting locations (sound like true Manhattanites, if you ask me).
We’re hoping any further repairs to the water tank where the owls were roosting will be delayed one more week by @NYSDEC to ensure the owls’ safety, since a few were spotted perching on the tower last night.
Thank you again to NYC Bird Alliance staff and volunteers, and the many concerned New Yorkers who continue to monitor the Manhattan barn owls. OWL WE NEED IS LOVE 🥰
DeepGreen is proposing a massive, 100-megawatt underwater AI data center in critical habitat for Cook Inlet's endangered belugas. We cannot afford to make an already challenging environment even harsher for them.
FoA is opposing this project. Read more: friendsofanimals.org/deepgre…
BREAKING NEWS: FoA has sued the Trump Admin. for its misguided decision to not list horseshoe crabs under the ESA.
These ancient mariners deserve a full scientific review and protections to prevent it from going extinct.
Extinction is forever.

Colorado’s Constitution is not a trophy room, and wild animals are not targets, props, or “resources” to harvest.
Amendment 83’s supporters clearly see things otherwise. Vote NO on Amendment 83. Read more about what your vote means for wildlife: friendsofanimals.org/friends…

Finally, NYC voted to ban the carriage horse trade. After 40 years of fighting for the horses’ freedom, FoA isn’t relenting. Not until all 180 horses set foot in accredited sanctuaries, where they can choose how to spend their days and never again suffer at the hands of humans.
The bill to ban carriage horses in NYC has passed. We celebrate this victory for the horses as we spent over four decades advocating for this moment. Friends of Animals will ensure every horse goes to accredited sanctuaries. Count on it.
History is made. Thank you @SpeakerMenin
