Sitting in a Brentford pub right now where JMW Turner lived for a while and leafing through a book of his paintings and my mind is blown, as just seen this painting of his for the first time, by the Thames in Windsor. I realised he painted it from exactly the same spot as I moored a few years ago. His painting and my photo looking from my bedroom through my french doors, in the same place. My angle is different so the scene does look different, but in real life, that scene he painted over 200 years ago is almost identical today. Incredible.

On #InternationalWomensDay, we celebrate the women of Waterloo Bridge.
By the 1930s, the foundations of John Rennie’s original 19th-century bridge were failing, rendering it unfit for modern London, so a replacement was needed.
