3rd graders prepared a salad bar, bread & butter with radishes, pesto pasta, & strawberry-mint lemonade. With most of the produce coming from our garden, students learned all about local & seasonal food in an engaging & hands on way! @FoodPrintsCHCS @FoodPrintsDC @WatkinsDCPS
1st Graders worked collaboratively to create a visual model of what they learned in FoodPrints today: it's important to eat fruits & veggies of all colors of the rainbow to keep our bodies strong & healthy! They ended class with a rainbow salad! @CHCSPTA @FoodPrintsDC
Yum! 2nd graders impressed everyone in the room by preparing: a Green Salad with Herb Vinaigrette, a Swiss Chard & Goat Cheese Frittata, Pumpkin Scones, and a Yogurt & Granola Parfait! Proud @WatkinsDCPS Teacher! @CHCSPTA @FoodPrintsDC
Thank you 1st graders for helping us celebrate Earth Day @WatkinsDCPS by watering the garden and doing a garden appreciation scavenger hunt! As one first grader said, "Every day is Earth Day to me!" @FoodPrintsDC @CHCSPTA

Watkins 1st Graders took some time to thank @TwinSpringsFruitFarm for our delicious & beautiful rainbow carrots. Students painted amazing pictures of the carrots & then prepared & enjoyed Lemon Roasted *Rainbow* Carrots for a FoodPrints snack @CHCSPTA @FRESHFARMDC @FoodPrintsDC
Not only did 2nd graders help prep the Watkins Garden for spring planting, but they also made connections between their Activism Unit & Food Justice by contributing to a garden that helps feed their school community fruits & veggies @CHCSPTA @FoodPrintsDC
