Maybe, just maybe, having our athletic director play in the Crew Cup with important sports figures and owners was a good idea.

Men’s hoops played the first exhibition game of the year last week.
Two different teams showed up for BYU, one in each half.
I personally think the second half team is what we will see the most this season.
I wrote about it in my weekly column.
@TrueBlue_Cougar
Two halves. Two very different BYU teams. 🏀
From a sluggish start to an explosive second half, the Cougars showed flashes of just how dangerous this roster could be.
@For3JT breaks down the Nebraska exhibition, standout performances, and what's ahead.

I was producing the show back then. It was a beautiful show of faith in the person and the man Kalani is. Young Fred Warner. Ty Detmer. Kalani’s family and staff. Super fans. It was beautiful.

I remember during Kalani’s first few years at BYU, when the program was really struggling and losing a lot of games. One night, they were doing the Kalani Football Show live on TV, and basically zero fans showed up. His own football players ended up sitting in the audience to fill the empty seats. I remember Kalani getting emotional and breaking down in tears.
He has since admitted that during that time, he questioned whether he was the right guy for the job and whether he could turn the program around. I thought that might be his last year as BYU’s head coach.
And now look at him and this program… #2 IN THE COUNTRY!!!
What an incredible story of perseverance, loyalty, and believing in something when almost nobody else did. So happy for Kalani. He deserves every bit of this! 💙🤙

Here’s the video @olyjake3 is referencing. BYU lost 7 games in a row to LSU, Utah, Wisconsin, Utah State, Boise State, Mississippi State, and East Carolina.
Kudos to Kalani Sitake and the 2017 squad for not quitting, finishing the final five games of the season 3-2.
BYU Nation loves you, Coach! Let’s go win at UCF this Saturday! 🤙

Grateful I can open doors for him, like many opened for me.

BYU's Jaxon Kohler, LSU's Donovan Dent and Skyy Clark & Gonzaga's Xaivian Lee are among the top names who were granted an injunction in California today for a 5th year of eligibility, a source tells @On3.
Were previously granted a TRO. NCAA will appeal.

It’s almost as if BYU Football is like… a device or a means, for a larger population of outsiders to learn about faith based stuff.
I wish there was a shorter way for me to say this…

I know for a fact these numbers are wrong. They’re mathematically impossible.
I personally know two donors whose contributions alone would put us at double the reported spend. And that doesn’t even include the likely 20–30 others who contribute big dollars each year.
Whoever told you this either lied or is spreading a false, negative narrative.
Our athletics have never been in a better spot. Why is someone pushing this message right now? 🤔
It takes a village and everyone has the same goal. Let’s all push in the same direction together!
Go Cougs! 💙💙💙
Remember when Kalani was frustrated about resources?
Word on the street is that Kalani had verbal commitments from 2 Ohio State receivers and a Tennessee lineman.
But when they went to check the funds, Brian Santiago had moved $8 million from football to basketball without informing the program.
As a result, they weren't able to pay the recruits what they thought they could and lost them.
During the last transfer portal, Ohio St lost six wide receivers including 4 and 5⭐ recruits, and Tennessee lost six OLinemen.
It's very likely that, without Brian Santiago, those players would have been playing for BYU this year.
