Today, I had the pleasure of joining our two MMC's, Una Dickson and Amelia Zama, in collaboration with @ForAfrikaOrg, brought much-needed relief to the victims of the recent natural disasters which hit the Randwest Local Municipality. Together, they provided essential food hampers and a warm blanket to those affected, showcasing the power of community support and solidarity.
@ForAfrikaOrg , a leading humanitarian organisation, has been pivotal in this effort. They've been working tirelessly across the continent to provide resources, implement locally-led programs, and respond to emergencies, ensuring communities have access to clean water, food security, health, education, and economic empowerment. Their commitment to building resilient and thriving communities is truly commendable.
We are proud of our MMC's efforts and grateful for the partnership with ForAfrikaOrg in making a difference where it matters most. Let's continue to stand together and support one another in times of need. #CommunitySupport #ForAfrikaOrg #ReliefEfforts

Helping to relieve a financial burden, ForAfrika has, over the past few months, supported our children and their parents by providing them with much-needed food in the form of porridge. @ForAfrikaOrg does great work across Africa, and we thank them for their kind support. – at Johannesburg, South Africa

Dr Mary Okumu (@ForAfrikaOrg) on applying hum principles: The trick is, it depends on who is talking to who and who they're hearing. The local communities know. Most assume that they do not understand politics, but we listen to them and ask them, they decide where the aid goes.

Dr Mary Okumu (@ForAfrikaOrg) @ #SOHS2022 #VOICE30 event: We don’t refer to people as aid recipients, they’re our partners in finding solutions. They become champions on making decisions on when, how, where & when and we accompany them in their journey to addressing their needs

Dr Mary Okumu on upholding #neutrality:
@ForAfrika doesn't stand on a podium calling out violations but these are exposed through the local mechanisms & social networks we work with. That protects us as a frontline organisation. So just be smart, its all about… strategy. ⬇️
