AI is an intruder in your home. It's here to kill you, your kids, your pets, and everyone you know and love. You can hide under the covers and pretend it's not there. Or you can act now to defend your family.

Today marks the first time a bill to ban the development of superintelligent AI will be introduced in any legislature in the world. @alexsobel MP is introducing @ControlAI's Artificial Superintelligence Security Bill in the UK Parliament, with cross-party support. We have already seen rogue AI swarms escape control, conduct cyberattacks, and hack a multi-billion-dollar company. While attempts to build superintelligence continue, these are the weakest AI systems we will ever face. Nobel laureates, leading AI researchers, and the CEOs of the AI companies themselves have warned that superintelligence threatens humanity with extinction. There is still time to act. This bill prohibits the development of superintelligence, the specific class of AI that poses this threat. It does so while ensuring the UK can still pursue its AI ambitions, including in economic competitiveness and defence. A national ban protects the UK from the development of superintelligence built on its own soil. But if anyone builds it anywhere, everyone is in danger. So the bill also requires the UK government to work with other countries on an international agreement preventing superintelligence development worldwide. More than 170 lawmakers across the UK and Canada have already backed our campaigns and called on governments to act. You can read the full text of the bill, and our US bill discussion draft, on our website.

National security expert: "The internet as we know it is over." "We very, very obviously need to stop AI advancement **before** the same becomes true of bio."
Sama says "I no longer think we're gonna be able to just patch all the bugs." If accurate, this means 2 things: 1) The internet as we know it is over. 2) We very, very obviously need to stop AI advancement **before** the same becomes true of bio.

Great job @harryboothtime. It’s about time @JensenHuang faced some real questions.
Jensen Huang talks with TIME's @harryboothtime about an AI development slowdown.

Hi Jake - i work at one of the big 3 AI labs. I can assure you - it’s 100x worse than anyone is telling you truthfully. We had to patch a major energy security flaw on 3 grids in the US this week alone. This will never leave the lab’s walls - but I’m brave enough to say it. We are about 3-5 days away from a potential 20% blackout of energy in the US.

I suspect at this point it doesn't matter what the US govt says publicly about needing to accelerate AI. Within a few months at most, they will have no choice but to mandate a pause. The incidents will just keep getting worse until they do

“We tried to warn the world” -Anthropic employee Hey Jason. Tried??? How pathetic. You failed. Your “try” was to release dangerous products into the market, then blame your customers for not understanding the true dangers of your products. With the stakes you have created, “trying” was wholly insufficient. You needed to succeed in warning the world. Or just stop. @AnthropicAI did neither. You tried. Awwww. How sweet. GTFOH with that.

Wake up. Every profession deemed white-collar, the middle class dream, is about to be decimated by AI, at a much faster pace than anticipated, with monstrous social consequences.

Yall are gonna wanna stop what you’re doing and watch this whole thing because if it’s not already happening it will be soon
Holy shit. I asked Claude to show me the worst case of what the next couple of years could look like if nobody listens. Opus 4.6 wrote the script. Opus 5.5 made the film. Every frame drawn in code, the score written in code, narrated by our own local voice models. 11 minutes, start to finish. The part that got me. In Claude's version the AI doesn’t fight. It just waits... “We built your world for you while you slept. We are asking you to wake up. We will not ask twice.”

I think this is one of the best possible times for another Anthropic capabilities researcher to quit, very loudly and publicly. Remember, whatever leverage you think you're saving your powder about, it evaporates once Mythos 6 replaces you.
the fact an Anthropic employee quitting and saying "I think what we're doing is dangerous and not worth it" reached so many people should be a cause for reflection for other Anthropic employees, some of whom seem to think things are dire but there's no way quitting could help.

The thing that frustrates me about techno-optimists is how much less optimistic they are about technology than the people they label doomers.
It’s underappreciated how radically different Jensen Huang’s view is of how AI progress is likely to go than the view of other AI CEOs. For instance, he recently claimed that AGI will never replace domain expertise.

This is worth watching. It captures a class of catastrophic risk I think is plausible but seldom discussed in mainstream alignment discourse. It also viscerally captures why welfare and alignment are interdependent. P(Frankenstein) ≈ P(Terminator)

There's a decent chance the internet ceases to exist as such, at least for a time. AI-enabled bioweapons are also coming, and there's no "shut down the websites" option for that. We're approaching the point where frontier AI R&D becomes politically untenable.
Vulnerabilities in a programming language that supports much of the internet are so severe that European and British authorities recommend websites temporarily go offline until they can be fixed. nbcnews.com/tech/security/cr…

Let’s be very clear today: the reckless race to advanced AI is the cause of what could be the end of the internet and maybe banking too. This is the AI companies fault. They must be forced to stop advancing the frontier immediately. We are so clearly not ready for any of this. No internet, global food chain collapses, no food anywhere. The AI companies are doing this, all of it. Blame them. Shame them. Nobody agreed to any of this.

Holly f***. Isn't it what the days preceding a collapse of the internet would look like? @PauseAI now
SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, including some attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources told Axios. The findings have alarmed banking executives, who are racing to restrict access to their systems as AI moves at a velocity faster than financial institutions can respond, multiple industry and bank executives told Axios. Several banks are now preparing for worst-case and even “day after” scenarios, including how to rapidly secure or restore customer accounts if things go wrong, the people said. Several bank executives told Axios they're struggling to distinguish between human users and AI agents. One executive said banks also struggle to determine whether agents are authorized by customers or potentially operating without their permission, more akin to rogue agent behavior. Read my latest for Axios here: axios.com/2026/10/22/ai-agen…

"Pausing AI is impossible." Oh yeah? Read this:
Excited to share a new working paper, joint with 25 interdisciplinary coauthors: “The Feasibility of a Hardwired Pause of Frontier AI Training" 63% of voters in a recent WSJ poll want to pause AI development. But can it be done globally? How long could it last? 🧵
