You can be right about where $BTC is going and still lose everything. That's what leverage does: it turns "I was right" into "I was right, but too late." Here's how liquidations actually work 🧵

Why leverage makes $BTC easier to push around: Every leveraged position has a liquidation price. When thousands of traders bet that Bitcoin "won't move" (or will only move one way), those prices cluster at levels many can estimate. Pushing price into a cluster triggers forced orders. Those orders move price further, for free. Moving price that way takes less capital than moving the spot market alone. Less leverage = less fuel for the hunt. My take: spot holders make the market harder to manipulate. Agree? Repost if you think leverage hurts the market.

Option A: 100x to "buy the hack dip" and pray. Option B: no leverage, no shorts, eight hours of sleep. Withdrawals are paused. Liquidations aren't. A hack can drop the price, but it can't liquidate what isn't borrowed. Are you sleeping tonight?

Saturday plan: relax, no screens, touch grass. Saturday reality: checked the Bitcoin price 41 times. It moved $12. One does not simply check it once. How many times have you checked today? Repost if you've checked it more than 10 times today.

Bought Bitcoin for the adrenaline. Volatility just hit 2023 lows. I've been sold the most boring roller coaster on Earth. Anyone else checking if the chart is frozen? Save this for when it gets wild again. It will.

Someone with 1M+ followers just called $BTC a "dead network." Here's what the data says instead: High: $126,198 (Oct 6, 2025) Low: $57,740 (Jul 1, 2026) Now: ~$80k, about 37% below the top. That's a deep drawdown. It's also the kind $BTC has lived through before. Million-dollar bets are entertainment. Holding spot, without leverage, is a decision you can actually survive. Bookmark this chart. Check it again in 12 months.

Uncle Sam is HODLing harder than half of crypto Twitter. What's the dumbest thing you ever sold sats for?

How many cycles is that based on? Three, maybe four. Worth showing the spread, not just the average: how many months after each top did the bottom actually come? If the range is wide, '13 months' isn't a timer. teapawt.org/BitcoinArchive/status/…
Bitcoin is right where previous cycles bottomed, 13 months after the top — Glassnode. 👉 Bull market loading… 🫡 @n3ocortex

"November of a bear market year typically kickstarts the final leg down." Typically, out of how many? - $BTC has had very few bear-market Novembers - 'final leg' is only labeled after the fact - bands and levels fit the past by design Useful as a scenario. Weak as a forecast. For a spot buyer the question is simpler: does it change your DCA plan? Save this for the next 'final leg down' post.

"30K qubits could crack Bitcoin keys in one hour." Before panicking, separate three things: - a research estimate vs. a machine that exists - logical vs. physical qubits - exposed public keys vs. coins behind hashed addresses The quantum risk is real enough to plan for. It's not a reason to sell spot today. What would make you take it seriously: a date, or a demo? Want me to go deeper on which coins are most exposed?

Binance hot wallets look drained. ~$2.8B reported. What's reported so far, not confirmed: - big outflows to unlabeled wallets (Arkham data) - Tether says it froze $971M in USDT - no official statement from Binance yet What's not in question: Coins on an exchange are a claim, not coins. If you buy spot and hold, the boring step is the one that matters: withdraw to a wallet you control. When was the last time you checked where your bitcoin:native actually sits? Save this for the next 'exchange halted withdrawals' headline.

Bitwise's 2036 $BTC scenarios, per the post: - bear: about $130K - base: about $1.6M - bull: about $3.7M The spread is the story. Bull is roughly 28x the bear case. That's not a forecast, it's a range of assumptions. The bear case is still above today's price, which says more about the model than the market. Which input would you stress-test first? Save this before the next price target goes viral.

Miners outrunning BTC on a bounce is what higher beta looks like. The useful check: their drawdowns vs. BTC over the same selloff. Upside beta usually comes with the downside version. teapawt.org/CoinMarketCap/status/2…
CMC Asset Watch: Miners Bounced Harder Than Bitcoin 🔹 RIOT, CLSK and MARA rose together on October 27 and 28. BTC's rise on the 27th was only about 1%. 🔹 The pattern fits relief after a sharp sector selloff, with AI-infrastructure stocks recovering after Anthropic's IPO filing. No single catalyst has been verified for all three miners. 🔹 A two-day rebound does not settle miners' operating costs or AI-project financing.

Me, with a perfectly good cold wallet, looking at a coin with a dog on it. We've all been this guy. How much did it cost you?

Every week someone asks if they can just make more Bitcoin. No. 21 million. That's the whole point. What's the wildest question you've had to answer about it?

"$BTC is right where previous cycles bottomed, 13 months after the top." Maybe. But count the sample first. - how many full cycles is that? A handful. - was the timing similar each time, or just the average? - different market now: ETFs, treasuries, derivatives A pattern with 3 data points is a hypothesis, not a schedule. Would you size a buy on a 3-point pattern? Save this for the next 'cycle bottom' chart.

"$BTC outperformed gold by 58% since Feb 28." (Fidelity, per Bitcoin Magazine) Start dates do a lot of work. - pick a different start, get a different winner - 8 months is one regime, not a trend - outperformance after a drawdown is partly just recovery The fairer test: rolling returns over many windows. Which start date would you pick to test it? Want me to run the rolling comparison? / A repost helps more people see it.

A smart contract to settle the $1M Cardone vs. Calacanis $BTC bet. Nice idea. The code is the easy part. - who reports the price on the deadline? - which exchange, which minute, which index? - what if the oracle fails or gets gamed? Trustless settlement still trusts its data source. Which price feed would you accept if your money was on it? Follow if you like these breakdowns.

Druckenmiller: US 'real debt' is closer to $200T once you count promised Social Security and Medicare. That's not the same as Treasury debt. - one is a legal obligation - the other is a promise that can be cut, taxed or delayed - both get paid in dollars someone can create For a $BTC spot holder, the question isn't the headline number. It's how the gap gets closed. Higher taxes, cuts, or inflation: which one do you think wins? Repost if you want more people asking this.

The 200-week moving average just moved above $67K (per Adam Back's chart). Why spot buyers watch it: - it's roughly 4 years of average price - past cycle lows sat near or under it - price far above it = you're paying a premium to the long-run trend It's a reference line, not a floor. Check how far $BTC sits above it today, and how that gap looked at past tops and bottoms. Do you use it in your buying plan? Save this for the next time someone says "it can't go lower."
