Sigh. Rioting and violent disorder is complex and 1 dimensional/1 tweet analysis is next to useless. The previous inquiry was excellent. If you don’t read it. Completely. Before commenting on why this is happening or what should be done then you are wasting electrons and rations. Anything beyond - “don’t riot”and sympathy for the victims is likely to just be feeding a narrative (not helpful). No one needs your political analysis, whataboutery, or yeah buts. On any side. Instilling fear in people (for their lives), and hurting them, is utterly contemptuous even if you think you have some type of legitimate grievance. My heart goes out to police friends and colleagues- for whom this is a dangerous and thankless task - but even more so for those feeling helpless, scared and confused. Their bravery (and that of leaders exhorting peace) is on another level. Holding back from violence, even when it feels the only choice, is one of the bravest things a human can do.
