We attended this injured swan last Thursday at Roundhay Park, after the bird was witnessed being mauled by an uncontrolled dog. Despite our best efforts, the bird sadly passed away a short time later.

Tis the season... to plant spring bulbs 🌸 Thousands of bulbs are expected to be planted at Throstle Road in Middleton this week. Working in partnership with @GroundworkYorks throughout Nov, we can expect to see the flowers bloom in early spring. Works are weather permitting 🌼

Back to Roundhay Park in Leeds once again, this time for a swan carrying some fishing tackle. Thankfully, the hook was easily removed and the bird was immediately returned to the lake to rejoin their flock.

There's a shark in our waters! The Leeds Wasteshark gobbles up litter in the River Aire. It is operated by @CANections and comes from the Waterfront Group that we're a part of, chaired by @ydgleeds We're proud to support this addition to our beautiful waterfront.

Challenging light conditions didn’t do justice to the Roundhay Park Red-necked Grebe. Only the 2nd record for the lake, the first being recorded in 1996 @nybirdnews @ForpLeeds
