If you DO NOT have a cognitive/intellectual disability, you CANNOT "reclaim" the r-slur.
Neurodivergent is an umbrella & the majority of us are NOT targets of the systemic violence of the slur.
The campaign to end its use was spearheaded by ppl w/Down Syndrome. Listen to them.

sorry but its a huge disservice to shane’s character to think that staying closeted for the rest of his life is his happiest ending. its also naive & privileged to think the closet is remotely safe or comfortable. some “allies” clearly arent mature enough to engage w queer media

Some people view homosexuality as a concept that exists solely for aesthetics and social status and that's why they don't see the problem with conversion rhetoric or kinks

“not everything has to be gay” not everything has to be straight either like

i’m so tired of queerness/transness being framed as some inherently white concept. completely ignoring the fact that QTPOC face multiple overlapping axes of oppression. why do people act like these things can be divorced from each other

also, i don’t think this should have to be said, but in case yall weren’t aware: if avoiding queerphobia was as easy as just simply not telling anyone ur queer and being in the closet, the rates of queerphobic violence would be half of what they are now.
1. Queer ppl are NOT "predominantly yt."
There is no racial predisposition to queerness & yt ppl are ~16% of the world, so queer ppl are predominantly NOT YT.
2. The Cornell 7 are ALSO NOT ALL YT.
You overshadow the important points you make when you lead w/complete bullshit.

Queer people are predominantly white. You have white privilege even if it hurts you to admit it, and it is showing. Patriarchy was made for you.
Patriarchy as constructed in Western society was never a racially neutral system designed to benefit all men equally.
You CAN'T make a 1:1 equation of queerphobia & racism & it's wrong for ppl to pretend you can.
That said, declaring queerphobia as not "real systemic oppression" in a world where we are seeing a rapid increase in institutionalized queerphobia, ESPECIALLY transphobia, is crap.
Highkey why I’ll never support the “You can hide your queerness” argument. Some of us were getting bullied for being gay before we even knew what homosexuality was.

The fact that she’s been harassed so much she no longer feels safe to interact in her own fandom about a story centered around acceptance and love. It’s shameful. She shouldn’t be feeling this way
Rachel Reid talks to the @TorontoStar about how things have changed since Heated Rivalry aired:
“I kind of was alone. What was happening to me was very separate from what was happening to everyone else in the show. I didn’t make the show, so I didn’t have the same connection that everybody else had.”
“It’s not a one-person job being me anymore. That happened so fast."
"There’s an intensity to the fandom that’s new. People did always have some strong feelings about these characters, and I always was blown away by it, but it’s maybe too much for me to handle one-on-one these days."
"I do appreciate it, it’s just I need to feel safe.”

ALT This is what I am talking about when I say we really need to differentiate between something BEING/HAVING a privilege and something allowing a person CONDITIONAL ACCESS to privilege that would be revoked were their actual identity known. The closet is NOT a "privilege." The closet is a psychological torture chamber that exists as a direct result of the oppression of queerphobia, But BY BEING IN the closet and/or passing as cıshet someone may have CONDITIONAL ACCESS to privileges denied to openly queer people in a queerphobic society.

Its also not lost on me that the black trans people in this conversation are being deliberately, maliciously painted as white in order to exclude them.
Black trans people are tossed aside in trans communities and tossed aside in black communities

Why are white queers comparing anything when Black queer folk literally experience both
