All 12 Days of Early Voting are complete in Tarrant County. We knocked it out of the park. We legit finished 100 votes shy of the full 2022 cycle and we will have Election Day to come. This is my quick summary of where we are.

I'd appreciate it if @elonmusk stopped shadowbanning everyone he disagrees with. I earned a blue check under Twitter and got more than 50K followers. Since Musk took over, I've paid his monthly feel but I've gained virtually no followers and Musk's algorithms ensure that I get almost no traffic.
Replying to @IAPonomarenko
@IAPonomarenko I've written two books about Trump and Russia(House of Trump, House of Putin and American Kompromat) and it goes back to 1980 when Russia first began to cultivate him. They own him. He was a stupendously bad businessman and they bailed him out again and again--over decades.

Invisible Disabilities Week ends today. But for millions living with chronic illness and invisible disabilities, the pain, fatigue, stigma, and daily challenges don't end when awareness week does. You can look healthy and still be struggling. You can have a good day and still be disabled. And you shouldn't have to prove your pain to deserve compassion, understanding, or accommodations. As we close out #InvisibleDisabilitiesWeek, let's remember that awareness is only the beginning. Real change happens when we listen, believe people, challenge misconceptions, and make accessibility a priority. Because nobody should have to look sick to be taken seriously. What's one thing you wish more people understood about living with an invisible illness? #InvisibleDisabilities

My dudes. This stale crusty piece of mental impairment had secret service chasing after him because he missed the entrance to the car and just kept on going. They all spring into action realizing the idiot went for a dementia walk. 🤦 😂🤦Jesus H.

There has been a wave of book bannings in recent years -- but it could get worse, as the German playwright Heinrich Heine famously observed in his 1821 play Almansor: “Wherever they burn books they will also, in the end, burn human beings.” #BannedBooksWeek #FreedomToRead bit.ly/4i3d6K7

France ordered big businesses to cover their parking lots in solar panels, and the businesses are embracing it. Carrefour is putting solar canopies over 350 of its store lots, 180,000 parking spaces, and using the power to run its supermarkets. Disneyland Paris started even earlier: its guest lot now has more than 80,000 panels over 11,200 spaces, producing about 17% of the resort's electricity. France passed the law in 2023 requiring most large outdoor parking lots to put renewable-energy canopies or other qualifying shade over at least half the lot. Many businesses don't pay a cent upfront. Carrefour isn't even fronting the construction cost. GreenYellow is financing the entire installation and operating it under a 20-year power agreement. Carrefour uses the electricity and says the project will significantly reduce its energy bills. The government estimates it could add up to 11 gigawatts of solar. In full sun, that's about as much as 10 nuclear reactors. The US has somewhere between 700 million and 2 billion parking spaces. Most of them are bare asphalt baking in the sun. Why aren't we doing more of this?

Gatorade used to have brominated vegetable oil in it, BVO, which is patented as a flame retardant and was banned in Europe and Japan. A 15 year old named Sarah Kavanagh read the label in 2012, looked it up, and started a petition that got 200,000 signatures. PepsiCo took it out in January 2013 and said it wasn't a safety decision, FDA allowed it, they were responding to customers. Coke and Pepsi took it out of everything else in 2014. Mountain Dew kept it until around 2020. FDA didn't ban it until August 2024, after NIH studies found it builds up in tissue and affects the thyroid. It had been sitting on FDA's interim additive list since 1970. By the time they got around to banning it, every major company had already taken it out on their own, and the reason they did was a 15 year old with a petition.

We have a need for an enlightened, watchful articulate opposition. We have no need for semi-secret societies who are absolutist, dictatorial and would substitute for a rule of law and reason an indiscriminate assault on the institutions that must be held sacrosanct. Rod Serling

.@AOC is right: We must expand Medicare to cover dental, vision and hearing and lower the eligibility age to 55 as part of the movement toward Medicare for All. Let’s get it done.
Exclusive: If Democrats win big in November, reversing President Trump’s Medicaid cuts and restoring ACA subsidies are priorities, but House Democrats are also talking about lowering the age of eligibility for Medicare. wapo.st/4xIzH5g
