#PayRestoration From today, some employers, seniors and rota coordinators will tell you things that are not true. Some are clumsy mistakes, some are attempts to undermine your will to strike. The media will attack you and your reps. Here are some mistruths you may hear: 🧵

An appalling title for an article. No-one on the side of humanity is having a “good war”. The notion that this is about careers is also deeply distasteful. ⁦@spectator⁩ should change title & apologise to anyone (esp Ukrainians) upset by this seeming celebration of the war.

It is the firm view of the Commissioners that the introduction of a Strategy and Policy Statement – enabling the Government to guide the work of the Commission – is inconsistent with the role that an independent electoral commission plays in a healthy democratic system (2/4)

To be crystal clear, this picture was taken with 2m social distancing rules still in place at workplaces. The issue here is not Matt Hancock’s infidelity - it’s his world-beating hypocrisy. Write the rules. Tell the little people to obey. Then break them with impunity.

I see that @BBCNews have changed their title & text away from their very deliberate - and very misleading - reframing of the reported Johnson quote. I think we should all demand an investigation into how the original came about — as it destroys faith in BBC as independent.

I’m still trying to get action on PM’s systematic lying in parliament The BBC asks whether people care about it Please RT if you do
Alastair Campbell - “Peter Stefanovic’s video has had 12 million views. Every day he asks BBC why will you not play these clips of Johnson in Parliament lying at dispatch box. PM’s are meant to resign if they lie at dispatch box” BBC interviewer “Do people care?” YES @BBCNews

One year ago, I protested outside Downing Street. I was six months’ pregnant, and working as a doctor on the frontline. 👩‍⚕️ Within hours, I knew my life would never be the same. THREAD:

Haven’t seen my mum since February. We’d planned to meet up for a few hours only during the 5 days relaxation to swap presents. Looks like we’re probably going to go a year without seeing each other now. Please take these rules seriously. The NHS is being devastated.

I keep pinching myself, asking why the media aren't all over this? Because of the total breakdown of test and trace, documented in my columns this week and last week, we are stuck with the pandemic for the foreseeable future. Yet somehow this is a non-story. What is going on?
I hope you’re sitting down, because this week’s column should make you very, very angry. It shows how professional clinicians employed by the NHS in crucial test and trace jobs have been secretly replaced by teenaged call centre workers employed by Serco theguardian.com/commentisfre…

Patient's family: ok thanks but can we speak to the consultant now Me: that's me, I'm the consultant PF: no, like a real consultant, an English one. Me: PF: Me: PF: Me: no you may not
What’s your most awkward experience with #discrimination at work? Mine... Patient: You know Doc, the Bible is the one and only true scripture there is. All others are just nonsense. Me: Sir, let me get my finger out of your bottom and we can discuss religion.
