You could argue he was ignorant in the jedi order and his blind faith in the jedi but accepting the sith was definetly not the way forward

Should be noted that this decision came from George Lucas directly.
EU writers had decided that some races should be naturally more gifted in the force, which he thought was cool, but those same EU writers started to try to make a Jedi for every race and it eventually annoyed him enough to make a decree that was effectively:
"If some races were naturally force sensitive, other races should be naturally non-force sensitive, anything less doesn't make sense. Wookies already have long lifespans and super strength. They don't need it."
And vetoed any future attempt at making a Wookie Jedi, cause he felt 6 Wookie Jedi in ~26000 years was already pushing it.
He also decided that some races should have a natural affinity towards the Dark Side as well. Gungans, being an example of that. So while a Gungan Jedi is technically possible, any force sensitive Gungans that might exist will more likely be Dark Jedi or Sith just by the nature of their species.
Kashyyk should be much lower (yes, I'm aware of the joke).
Canonically, pre-Disney, Wookies have extremely low midi-chlorian counts to the point where the handful of Wookies that are even capable of sensing the force, let alone get trained as Jedi, are anomalies typically separated by hundreds of generations. A force sensitive Wookie is like a 115+ IQ Somalian. Possible? Yes. Probable? Hell no lol. You only get one once every couple hundred years at best.

If there's two characters that highlight the low level decline of the Republic its Jocasta Nu and Dexter Jettster in the Clone Wars.
Jocasta is a complete functionary. The star charts are purposefully tampered with to remove Kamino, and yet all she can reply is that if something is not in the Jedi Records, it does not exist... When Obi-Wan's basic analysis shows the Gravity pull of the missing star still reveals itself on a chart (as if a river was deleted but the valley remained)... Obvious stuff... And Yet Jocasta has failed upwards specifically because of this hyper formal compliance.
Meanwhile, Obi-wan has found a real expert: Dexter ... Running an archaic outer-rim themed Diner that he cannot find other work on Couresant, that he's the only one who can identify the unusual archaic weapon an assassin used.
This is a subtle nod to the classic 1950s American SciFi novel "Atlas Shrugged" in which an economic collapse is so severe and the government so corrupt that after months of searching legendary Philosopher and professor Hugh Akston is randomly found running a 50s highway diner. That it is the most senior work that won't involve morally compromising himself, or accepting a compromised quality out of line with his philosophy.
That's RIGHT! the weird Alien in the 50s diner is an important political theme and commentary! George thought of everything! He's even citing his primary sources in American dystopian/scifi fiction.

En 1983, Michael Jackson ordenó destruir los negativos de "Thriller" cuando el videoclip ya estaba terminado.
Era testigo de Jehová.
Según su abogado, su congregación consideraba que el video promovía la demonología y le advirtió que podía ser expulsado si lo estrenaba.
Michael se tomaba muy en serio su religión. Incluso salía a predicar disfrazado para evitar que lo reconocieran.
La advertencia lo angustió tanto que llamó a su abogado, John Branca, y le ordenó destruir los negativos.
Después de meses de trabajo y una inversión de cientos de miles de dólares, estaba dispuesto a renunciar al proyecto.
Pero Branca y el equipo evitaron que las cintas fueran destruidas y las guardaron bajo llave.
Entonces, Branca tuvo una idea: le contó que Bela Lugosi, el famoso intérprete de Drácula, era profundamente religioso y que sus películas incluían advertencias aclarando que no promovían el ocultismo.
Había un detalle: Branca se lo había inventado.
Michael creyó en aquella explicación y aceptó incluir al comienzo del videoclip una advertencia:
"Debido a mis firmes convicciones personales, deseo recalcar que esta película de ningún modo apoya la creencia en el ocultismo".
La solución funcionó.
"Thriller" se presentó en Los Ángeles en noviembre de 1983 y llegó a MTV el 2 de diciembre.
El videoclip que Michael Jackson estuvo a punto de destruir terminó convirtiéndose en uno de los más influyentes de la historia de la música.
Y aquella advertencia que todavía aparece al comienzo es el recuerdo de una decisión que casi impidió su estreno.
