Yes! Local and midterm elections matter; that’s where bus stops and transit funding get shaped!

Brilliant conversation about a solution to many of our environmental, economic, and equity challenges...and it’s hiding in plain sight 🚍
There is a much older, much less sexy piece of machinery that could be the key to making our cities more sustainable, more liveable, and more fair: the humble bus. Listen to @shigashide on @99piorg discuss his new book Better Buses, Better Cities ow.ly/5prh30qfHgg

Glad you enjoyed it! What did it make you think about in your community, or how might it inspire your work?
“You must never be fearful about what you are doing when it is right.” Happy birthday, Rosa Parks – born #OTD in 1913. #BlackHistoryMonth

Today is the 106th birthday of civil rights activist, Rosa Parks. Parks became a prominent face of the civil rights movement after she was arrested and fined for refusing to give up her seat at the front of a bus to a white passenger in Montgomery, Alabama on Dec. 1, 1955.

Here's our take on why Nashville's transit referendum failed: its messaging was focused on development, not mobility. mobilitylab.org/2018/05/03/n…

Because of the effects of housing segregation, transportation remains a critical link to opportunity, especially for folks striving to get out of homelessness or poverty. #HousingOhio18 teapawt.org/bpgrady/status/9833514…

Dec. 1st, 1955: 42-year-old Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat for a white man on a Montgomery bus. “People always say that I didn’t give up my seat because I was tired... but that isn’t true. I was not tired physically… No, the only tired I was, was tired of giving in”

62 years ago today. This simple sign, affixed to a seat on a @RideOnMCT bus, is a good reminder of the importance of #transit.
