Usually Friends of Trees volunteers are tasked with planting trees, but this weekend they got to rescue them! We rescued over 500 trees so they can be planted elsewhere in the Tualatin River Watershed, and cleared a quarter mile of the future Salmonberry Trail!
The type of shade we like to throw! Plant now for shade later. #WhyWednesday #TheFriendsofTreesWay
"Without all of you, we’re just a pile of trees in a parking lot." -Ian Bonham, Senior Neighborhood Trees Specialist, to our volunteers in Vancouver on Saturday.
It's not just what we plant, it's where. We want to bring the benefits of trees to everyone. #TheFriendsofTreesWay
It's a new year, but we are smack in the middle of planting season! We've already planted 15,000 trees and native shrubs this season, and with your help we'll plant another 15,000 by the time planting season wraps up in April.
