I've seen interesting takes on Heroic Actions or other "last ditch" efforts. Whether it's another full turn after you would have been knocked unconscious, after which you're outright dead, or other dramatic finales.

The misty forests beneath the Green Wall made for excellent farmsteads. Ample timber, rich soils, and reliable rains drew settlers from near and far but the troubles they fled from could not be outrun.
