Just a sub-254 lb aircraft, a Kawasaki 440 snowmobile engine, and whatever else he feels like bringing along. In recent clips he’s shirtless with a handgun on his hip, low-leveling over fields and runways like it’s a normal Tuesday.
These aren’t theoretical “armed civilians.” They’re people who already own the tools, already operate outside the usual regulatory boxes, and already treat self-reliance as normal. Formal military power is real. So is a large, dispersed population that is comfortable with both flying and carrying. The combination is awkward for anyone who prefers their adversaries neatly organized and easy to target.

Maybe you were born yesterday and read something on CNN. I watched Ukraine stsrt the war - Turchinov gave the order to begin the bombing campaign of Donbass ("ATO"). Ukraine lost that war in 2015 and signed Minsk capitulation peace agreements, and then for 10 years refused to implement them.
So yes, Ukraine started the war, lost it, remilitarized and started the war again, lost it again, was ready to sign another pesce deal in Istanbul, but was told by Boris Johnson to continue the war.
It is NATO's war against Russia with Ukraine as a proxy. But Ukraine is the aggressor. Not Russia.

JUST IN: The UK Sunday Times published a major report today detailing a previously secret SAS operation in Syria in 2022, which led to a murder investigation afterwards.
According to the reporting, SAS operators attempted to capture an ISIS cell leader codenamed “Bravo One" near Al-Zer. The team came under fire, pursued two individuals, and killed them after assessing an imminent threat. An initial internal review cleared the action as self-defence.
The director of Britain’s special forces later referred the soldiers to police. Several were arrested (some while still deployed in Syria/Iraq), homes were raided, and they faced a double murder investigation carrying potential life sentences.
Within about 48 hours of questioning, they were returned to operations and conducted further raids. The case dragged on for years, and the soldiers were cleared last year with the possibility of the case reopening.
The incident allegedly plunged the SAS into a crisis, with impacts on morale, retention, and accountability.

With all due respect to you, Leela, you attended Elon University which is a middle tier college while Hegseth was valedictorian of his high school class, in ROTC the entire time, attended Princeton which requires almost perfect SAT scores and also got a post graduate degree from Harvard. He as well as you served in combat in Iraq. You are really in no position to judge Hegseth's qualifications for leadership in this role. You sound like a liberal Karen whose opinion is adulterated by your political views and by the way.... We were all frat boys at some point. I wouldn't want to judge anyone on their activities from college nor would I judge yours except to note that Hegseth is likely much smarter than you.
