Yesterday, We participated in a capacity-building session for #EnvironmentalHumanRights Defenders on Digital Safety and Technology organised by @G4ClimateAction with @UNDPUganda .
We continue to engage women and girls in flood prone areas in Mbale district to build their resilience to food insecurity. 240 women have been trained in this phase - women CAN!. They do not only grow food together, they also save money together.
Environmental defenders who challenge mining, logging and land interests get targeted. Women and girls face extra abuse: sexualised threats, fake images, threats to their families. All of it is meant to silence them. We will not be silenced. ✊#EHRDs #WomenDefenders #ClimateJustice
“Online threats do not stay online.” A single post can lead to hate speech, then doxxing, then targeted threats, and finally real-world harm. Each safety step breaks that chain. #EHRDs #DigitalSafety - @dianakarakire - Team lead Indigenous Times.
Happening now at @UNDPUganda is a capacity building session for Environmental Human Rights Defenders on Digital Safety & Technology-Facilitated Gender Based Violence together with the Global Institute for Media and Human Rights and @IndigenousTimez
