“ To strick fear when the toxin hits. There's a reason why I choose a scarecrow. ”

“ You still don't know why you do? ”

“ You lacking confidence? I would have never guessed. ” He was being sarcastic.

Crane put his hands up with a smirk. “ Alright— ”

“ Hmm— Interesting. ”

“ I thought u wanted me in Arkham. People like me belong there, correct? ” Crane was still hesitant to show his emotions.

“ Who are you trying to impress, detective? ”

“ Who said what I'm doing is bad? Not I, Detective. ” Crane wouldn't say it, but having that drink did something. Made him feel seen.

“ Not entirely. I have plans bigger than a tunnel system. What brings you here, detective? If something happened, there's a chance I may—or may not—have done it. ”

“ Detective... Well, I suppose I'll tell you. You'll find out anyway. A tunnel system—that's all I'll tell you. ”

“ Don't ask what I'm doing. I might have to get rid of you afterwards. ”

Crane was taken back, once again. The Doctor wasn't used to being shown kindness. “ Are you unwell? Did that encounter with Crock mess with your mind? ” Crane wasn't used to human contact either. He was used to being beat up by Batman or thrown around by Arkham guards.

Crane took a seat and chuckled in an unsettling way. “ No, detective, being experimented on and being abused caused that. ”

“ Speak for yourself. ” Crane replied as he followed Bullock to the pub. He was used to being alone. To him, it was normal, but there's no such thing as normal, not for him.

Crane was taken aback by this. “ You're asking me, of all people, to go and have a drink with you? ” Crane was hesitant, but in the end agreed to go with.
