The entire history of AC Milan is in tears following the passing of Franco Baresi. His example and integrity will be forever etched into the Club's DNA, just as his iconic number 6 shirt is. The condolences AC Milan extends to Franco Baresi's family at such a difficult time are shared by every Rossonero, who feels this loss as their own.

Replying to @tombogert
This is only acceptable if Paramount does the right thing and hires CCC Legend @GDMetellus8. Ideally to call matches by himself! All Philadelphia Union fans demand it!

I really hate having to listen John Strong and Stu Holden call this match. Even putting Holden's shittiness as a person aside, they're both just not anywhere near good enough to be calling a match this big. They're not even good enough for MLS Cup. There's so much better Yanks.

England choke again in a massive match. Euros, Nations League, World Cup. They do well to get to the most important game and they choke when it counts. #Argentina are the Comeback Kings in this tournament.

BTW, the only team not to cower to Argentina in this tournament was #CapeVerde Shout out to The Blue Sharks.

This has been said for decades and it still hasn't changed. The US needs to market the game to poor Black and Hispanic neighborhoods, eliminate the pay for play, and don't focus on athleticism but focus on touch, technique, and ball control. This convo is repetitive and boring.
Landon Donovan says America is missing soccer talent because kids can’t afford to play. “Only 2% of kids playing organized soccer in America came from households that made less than $50,000.” “If you don’t make $50,000, your kid cannot play organized soccer.” “Think about how many kids you’re missing out on in this country because they can’t afford to play the game.” “There is zero chance I could have played club soccer.” “My mom made $34,000 a year, single mom raising three kids.” “She couldn’t pay $4,000 for me to play club. Are you kidding? She couldn’t pay $400.” “That’s not a good system to create good players.”

I’m watching this Colombia game, & an Afro-Colombian player, Yerry Mina, subs in for another Afro-Colombian, Jhon Lucumi, & my mind is just blown. Mina is what Portuguese called enslaved West Africans from the Gold Coast because many of them were shipped from the slave fort El Mina in Ghana. And Lucumi comes from the Yoruba phrase Olu Kumi, meaning “My friend”, which is what enslaved Yoruba called each other in the Americas. Fascinating🤯

Argentina were a disaster. Let that not get lost. But there is a mindset in this team that they never give up. If you score two, you gotta go for three. Three, go for the fourth and so on. You kill them and then kill them again in case they have any plans about resurrecting. Because this team wants to win. Leandro Paredes was the MOTM to be.

O maior de todos os tempos. #OReiPele

Balogun is a Nigerian who grew up in London. I'm glad his suspension got revoked, but I'm not going to pretend he's American. The Globalism World Cup.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Folarin Balogun was born in Brooklyn, New York, and is a U.S. citizen by birth. Although he moved to London as an infant and was raised there, his birthright citizenship is what makes him eligible to represent the USMNT. ussoccer.com/players/b/fola… bbc.com/sport/football…

Well said. I agree
The day Brazil lost its roots in 1982 and started on a trajectory of playing more European football was the day Brazilian football died. And it culminated in hiring a European manager only to suffer one of its biggest embarrassments in history. Brazil deserves this. The Brazilian people that bow down to European football deserve this. The people that supported Ancelotti deserve this. Brazil will only be Brazil again when it reverts to its roots and discovers itself and what makes it unique again.

Lo siento mucho por Ancelotti. Ni él ha podido arreglar el problema de Fútbol que tiene Brasil (a nivel colectivo) desde hace años.
