And when we find out the Manticore was targeting Percy & Thalia, so Annabeth attacked it to turn its attention away from them, which leads to her fall. So now Percy & Thalia feel even more guilty & blame themselves & each other for losing her & their beef gets crazier/worse >>>>

If my theory is correct, I like the idea of Artemis granting Percy a quest to save Annabeth because she sees her as one of her own already. And the only reason Artemis wasn’t able to go herself was bc she has to track Bessie (but obviously the oracle ends up choosing Zoë instead)
