No dog should suffer and there be no accountability.
Heartbroken that he laid his head down and died in the arms of loving strangers while the scum who abandoned him are not traceable.
We need to track these cases and tackle abandonment with evidence 👇

Today we are asking rescue organisations who provide Rescue Back Up via the microchip system to please support this petition.
Sadly we are aware of RBU being removed and stolen alerts erased from database records. This places dogs and cats at risk.

If you know a rescue or responsible breeder who does not yet register their Rescue Back Up safety net via a DEFRA complaint microchip database then please tag them as we’ve come so far in a short time but for Tuk we have to ensure no others die without being scanned. #ScanMe

This is such an important debate which will include discussing “Exemptions for Charities, Natural and Medical Tail Conditions. Please share to rescues who support animals abroad.

Defra has reissued the consultation via a new link (below) - close 10 February.
This is your ONLY opportunity to have your say and to explain why scanning microchips should be required before euthanising healthy or treatable animals.

It’s 8 years since Tuk lost his life when his microchip wasn’t scanned
It’s still not a legal requirement to scan & sadly others have also died this way
Thank you @RebeccaHarrisMP & all rescues who supported us requesting a 2nd reading of the Private Members Bill
Love U Tuk 🌈

Since 2021 we’ve been contacted to help over 30 dogs euthanised with rescue back up registration on microchips or presented by persons not registered on the microchip as the keeper.
9 vets and 3 others have responded to the consultation.
Where are you?

We don’t have any more words to say that will make you sign a petition you don’t want to support so we just ask you watch this video and then tell us why you won’t help stop healthy dogs from losing their lives?

We are hoping a lot of rescues and owners who have had their dogs and cats unnecessarily euthanised will complete the DEFRA questionnaire on if scanning has embedded into the vet profession.

When @VictoriaPrentis promised us the government would watch how pet abandonment effected rescues coming out the pandemic it didn’t happen
As a result thousands of dogs and cats will die and still people are turning a blind eye
Don’t be one of them 👇

In 2013, a call came who wanted her 13mnth GSD gone. I fostered Jacob who instantly became a WOW within 2 Police dog sections, yes I failed and #adopted him. Sadly today 13 years and 1 month old, Jacob peacefully fell asleep in his Dad's arms. What a #Dog #RescueDog xx Wayne
Wales region #Powys 16 week old male #germanshepherdpuppy foster home urgently needed or #adoption a home check that has already passed.
