Hey, I’m looking for someone to help us with acquisitions and integrations at Big Rock.
Basically someone who can walk into a 30-person company where the owner has done everything his own way for 25 years and get the team onto our systems and processes without causing half of them to quit.
Between deals, they’d be plugged into our operations.
Please forward this to anyone you know that might be a fit!

Living to 101 is a privilege I never anticipated. I was pleased to be able to share a few thoughts in a global publication about what I have learned and observed during this time.
After more than a century of life and decades of studying both the human body and the human soul, I have found this to be true: we are happiest when we remember our divine worth and extend that recognition to others—beginning with our own families.
More than two millennia ago, Jesus Christ preached these same laws of happiness: to love God and to love our neighbor. After 101 years, I can say that these are not abstract theological ideas—they are practical wisdom.
If you would like, you may read in the link below some of the thoughts I penned.

i’d argue you’re too easily moved by the choice words. “privilege” and “equality” are selected because they confuse the notion of fairness. another way to frame his statement “if you’re accustomed to succeeding due to hard work, ingenuity, risk/sacrifice, and, sure, some amount of luck, having the outcomes reset so that everyone is rewarded more equally feels unfair.”
is succeeding after making good choices, sacrificing personally, and working hard really “privilege”?
is it oppressive that everyone doesn’t get to the same place?
perhaps the real oppression is the loss of individual liberties when naively egalitarian philosophies mutate into marxism, denying opportunities for individual sacrifice, effort, and achievement to be rewarded.
framed as privilege v equality misses the mark.. equality of opportunity and equality of outcome are v different things. silicon valley’s most successful are the immigrants who found america as one of the only places on earth where an individual with zero baseline privilege can struggle and sacrifice and effortfully succeed. calling them privileged after the fact seems hardly the point. but an easy one to make.

Submitted an LOI yesterday for an add-on that will increase ebitda by about 25%. Pumped to go through the process and do it the right way. Quick overview:
<4x ebitda purchase multiple
Likely ticks down to sub 3x multiple in 12 months
50% cash, 50% deferred
Debt funded with a little piece of equity for seller
Improves all credit stats and minimal integration
Keep seller on for at least a year for transition
Fingers crossed!

The First Presidency has named Derrick Porter as the new executive producer, principal writer, and presenter of “Music & the Spoken Word,” replacing Lloyd Newell, who has served for the past 34 years.
“This kind of announcement is very rare, considering that during the past three decades we’ve all become accustomed to hearing Lloyd Newell on Sunday mornings,” said Bishop Gérald Caussé, Presiding Bishop of the Church and an advisor to the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square. “We are thrilled about the future of this program and know it will continue to bring peace and hope in a troubled world through its music and messages each week.”
Porter, 42, resides in Bountiful, Utah. He and his wife, Rebecca, are the parents of six children. He currently serves as a bishop in his local congregation.
“Rebecca and I marveled as we’ve reflected upon this call extended by President Nelson,” Porter said. “I am sincerely humbled at the opportunity to serve as a steward to carry on this great legacy.”
Lloyd Newell has served as writer and presenter of the Spoken Word since 1990. Only two others have been the announcer of @TheTabChoir on the weekly broadcast — Elder Richard L. Evans and J. Spencer Kinard. Newell and his wife, Karmel, have been called to serve as mission leaders for the California Los Angeles Mission and will begin their service in mid-June.
Newell’s last Sunday broadcast with the choir will be June 16. Porter will deliver his first Music & the Spoken Word message the following week, June 23.

There are various banking products to insure excess deposited over the $250K limit. The most popular is 'cash management accounts' which have a sweep feature that allows deposits to be spread across multiple FDIC-insured banks. For example, if you have $500,000 in your cash management account, the financial institution may spread it across three banks, sweeping $245,000 into one bank (to account for any unpaid interest that could move your balance above the $250,000 FDIC protection limit), $245,000 into another and $10,000 into the final bank.
Alternatively, you could use a CDARS - Certificate of Deposit Account Registry Service. A member bank divides this money into CDs issued by different CDARS banks each of which would be protected by the $250,000 FDIC insurance limit.
