Playing devils advocate here but the issue isnโt supply and demand - they are in stock, just as much as ps5 is.
The issue is the price went up. Again. At a time money is already hard.
By this point, it should be ยฃ350, tops.
Thatโs why sales slowed down across the board.
In Q1, XBOX revenue declined 2% YoY, compared with a 10% decline a quarter ago, while our accountability margin improved. Minecraft and WoW Forever set records, Call of Duty had its most acclaimed release in more than a decade, and our PC platform revenue grew double digits. Console sales remain constrained by supply, with more demand than consoles available. Weโre working to get more consoles into playersโ hands, including through our expanded refurbishment program. Weโre making progress, with a lot more work ahead.
Hardware is different, and component (ram) prices go up. But Xbox is ALWAYS the first to put their price up. Itโs not that Sony doesnโt do itโฆ itโs just Xbox does it first. The value proposition in the consumer eyes drops.
Itโs really obvious which looks better then.

I also think itโs outdated as hell and that we shouldnโt be reviewing by platform in most cases. Switch 2? Sure. But Xbox and ps5? Why?
Microsoft owns Activision, so why is Call of Duty missing an Xbox Metascore at launch? Xbox make it unnecessarily difficult to access games early on its platform; that's why.

Phantom Blade Zero isnโt even out yet, but is on the list for ultimate game of the year. Then you leave off games like Gears E-Day and Ace Combat.
These lists are always all bloody terrible but now they donโt even hide the BS. Iโm surprised The Last Of Us 3 isnโt on there.

Mass Effect is one of my favourite franchises to exist pretty much ever. The feelings I felt when I beat the first, the excitement playing the second, the MP of the thirdโฆ pure heaven.

I dunno maybe it was just a bad render. It looked to my eye in a Wii j glance that maybe itโs HDR>SDR container wasnโt correct, but it looked really off.

So, life update. Iโm surviving. The last few years have been really hard. A few months after my marriage ended, I found myself as a single parent 100% of the time. I had to not only heal myself, but my daughter too.
These days? Love life is DOA, but my girl and I? Thriving.
