Trotz has not blown ANY of his Draft Capital to make it happen. And the Preds have acquired a ton of picks over the last year. And Askarov hasn't been dealt. Embarrassment of riches

If the Predators can finalize things with Jonathan Marchessault, hearing his deal with Nashville will be five years and around $5.5 M AAV per season
I doubt the #Preds get a Top 5 pick unless they sweeten the deal heavily. If they were to make it happen, I could see the Columbus Blue Jackets as the best fit here. Unlike many other teams in the top 6 or 7 picks, they don't have a top G prospect.
The Nashville Predators have received numerous calls on goalie Yaroslav Askarov in the last 24 hours in the wake of the Juuse Saros extension news. The Preds are willing to move him but have set a high price they feel is warranted. Nashville would like to move into the top 5 of the first round tonight via an Askarov trade. So far there hasn’t been a fit. But the Preds will keep talking to teams.

I would only want to trade Saros for the 10th overall pick if that included one of either Nemec or Mercer from the #Devils. I would also want the #Preds to be able to sign a top-tier "backup" goalie to split time with Askarov over the next 1-3 seasons, depending on when they think he will be ready in terms of his development. Laurent Brossoit, Anthony Stolarz, or even bringing back Kevin Lankinen would do just fine.
