ALT An image showing a postcard and sticker featuring a red fire poppy and a California dogface butterfly, both endemic species found only in Southern California. The proceeds will be donated to LA Food Bank, California Community Foundation, Pasadena Humane Society, and the California Fire Foundation.
ALT A photo of a tiny jumping spider hanging out in my family’s fennel plant! They are looking to the right and have very large cute eyes. They are mostly grayish with some red head markings and I believe they might be in the genus Phidippus.
ALT An illustration of a yellow-faced bumblebee flying near a sky lupine stalk. The lupine has small blue pea-like flowers with purple and white markings. The bumblebee has a yellow face and a single yellow band on the abdomen. They are illustrated on a pale purple-blue background.
ALT An illustrated taxonomy poster featuring native bees found in North America, illustrated on a light periwinkle-blue background. The bees are all illustrated in various poses on native wildflowers or according to their species-specific behaviors. From top to bottom, left to right, there is the yellow-faced bumblebee, the orchard mason bee, the blueberry cellophane bee, the common long-horned bee, the western leaf cutter bee, the bumblebee-like digger bee, the bicolored sweat bee, and the eastern carpenter bee.
ALT An illustration of a long-horned bee resting on a yellow-petaled coneflower. The bee has a very fuzzy yellow and brown body with long antennae and large green eyes. The back legs of the bee are covered in orange-yellow pollen. It is illustrated on a light sky blue background.
ALT An illustration of a California red-sided garter snake encircling some wildflowers, against a solid blue background. The flowers are white yarrow (Achillea millefolium) and Castilleja affinis.
ALT An illustration in a style reminiscent of vintage national parks posters featuring periodical cicadas. These are black insects with bright red eyes and translucent veined wings. They are on tree branches and on leaves in the illustration. A yellow-toned nymph (form that molts and becomes an adult) is also grasping a branch in the illustration. Text in the illustration reads “Witness the dual cicada emergence”, with additional text reading “rare once in a lifetime event” and “brood XIX, XIII” denoting the broods that are emerging this year.
ALT An illustration depicting two lesser long-nosed bats hovering and feeding from a large white saguaro cactus flower. These bats are yellow-brown and have a leaf-shaped nose at the end of their long snouts. They are illustrated against a black background with tiny stars.
ALT An illustrated tiled pattern showing 6 species of salamanders and newts native to California arranged on a light blue background. They are mostly earthy brown, orange, yellow, and black. There are water droplets, sorrel, and redwood leaf litter scattered in between the amphibians.
ALT An illustrated poster (not by me) advertising the SJMADE Summer Fair at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, California. It is July 6-7 from 11-5 pm, and features 300+ artists!
ALT A photo showcasing 4 of my enamel pin designs I’ll have available at the fair, including an oarfish, orchid mantis, rosy maple moth, and a sunfish!
ALT An illustrated poster (not made by me) to promote SJMade Fest in San Jose, California. The event will have 250+ artist, makers, and food vendors in History Park.
