Modders just lifted a software limit on the RTX 4090, and its FP16 Tensor throughput jumped from 165 to 331 TFLOPS. Nobody touched the hardware.
Somewhere a guy is about to tell his wife the 4090 was an investment, and this time he has a chart 😏
Modders have unlocked hidden AI compute performance on NVIDIA’s RTX 20, 30 and 40-series GPUs.
The modifications remove software-level limits on certain Tensor Core operations, without changing the hardware or flashing a new VBIOS.
- RTX 4090: 165.6 → 331.6 TFLOPS FP16 Tensor Core throughput
-RTX 3090 Ti: 87.5 → 157.4 TFLOPS BF16 performance
- RTX 2080 Ti: 59.9 → 111 TFLOPS FP16→FP32 performance
- RTX 3090: 73.0 → 122.8 TFLOPS in a PyTorch GEMM test
The gains are mainly relevant to AI and compute workloads, not gaming.
For twenty years the only question anyone asked about a graphics card was "can it run Crysis?"
Pretty soon people will ask what it made last night. Maybe a song a stranger played on the bus this morning, or a video someone on the other side of the world posted before breakfast, rendered under your desk while you slept.
Your gaming rig is about to get a second career, and GamerHash AI makes sure the paycheck goes to you.
Your PC probably spends more hours a day idle than you spend playing on it.
Turn on the Earn Module in GamerHash AI and your graphics card can pick up AI jobs while you're away.
Every finished job pays out in GUSD, which you can spend in the GamerHash Store or withdraw as ethereum:0x728f30fa2f100742c7949d1961804fa8e0b1387d 🤑
Every parent hopes to hear that their kid has a talent besides gaming, and graphics card owners have better odds than most.
When you stop playing, GamerHash AI can send your card AI jobs, and the Earn Module pays you for each one it finishes.
Everyone in that classroom came out of one MiniMax H3 prompt. H3 runs locally in GamerHash AI for free, so your card can make clips like this one too.
Lighthouses stopped needing keepers decades ago. The one in this clip needed a single still image, and LTX 2.5 handled the weather.
Image-to-video runs locally in GamerHash AI, on the graphics card in your own PC. It's free, and you can keep generating until you get the wave you wanted.
The biggest bank in America just told the world we're running out of compute. Meanwhile, in some kid's bedroom, a 4090 is loading a Fortnite lobby.
That card is the most wanted piece of hardware of the decade, and the kid has no idea. GamerHash AI lets it pick up AI jobs once he logs off and pays him for every one it finishes.
Between now and 2031, a gaming PC is going to be a very good thing to own 😏
JPMorgan just dropped an ABSOLUTELY INSANE forecast for AI compute.
According to JPMorgan, global AI compute demand is expected to reach roughly 530 GW by 2031, while available supply is projected to reach just 250 GW. That leaves us with a staggering 280 GW shortfall, even after the industry spends hundreds of billions of dollars expanding capacity. We're talking about global AI compute supply potentially QUADRUPLING between 2025 and 2031, yet the shortage is expected to get even WORSE. In fact, JPMorgan estimates the gap between supply and demand could expand from roughly 50 GW today to nearly 280 GW by 2031.
And here's why this matters so much. When demand consistently outpaces supply, the companies controlling scarce compute capacity gain enormous pricing power. This is especially important for neoclouds like $NBIS and $CRWV, which are building out GPU infrastructure to serve customers that simply cannot secure enough compute capacity through traditional hyperscalers. If JPMorgan's projections are even remotely accurate, GPU rental pricing could remain stronger for much longer than investors currently expect, supporting higher utilization rates, long term contracts, and potentially stronger returns on deployed infrastructure. But the opportunity extends FAR beyond neoclouds. Companies like $NVDA and $AMD benefit from the continued need for accelerators, memory manufacturers like $MU benefit from increasing demand for high-bandwidth memory, and networking, storage, power, and cooling providers all become increasingly important as the industry attempts to close this gap.
And this is where I think the market is making a BIG mistake. Investors are so focused on whether AI companies are spending TOO MUCH money that they're overlooking the possibility that the industry STILL isn't spending enough to satisfy future demand. The real constraint isn't necessarily a lack of customers willing to pay for compute. It's the ability to manufacture enough chips, secure enough electricity, build data centers fast enough, and actually bring that capacity online. And that is EXACTLY why I continue to believe the biggest winners in AI won't necessarily be the companies building the models, but the companies supplying the infrastructure required to run them.
The jobs come from apps people use every day. Someone generates a song on Boppy or transcribes a podcast through @deAPI_, and that work can land on your card. You get paid in GUSD for each finished job.
To start, download GamerHash AI and switch on the Earn Module. After that, the app handles everything else.
Now hiring: graphics cards for the night shift. The only requirement is that you finish your gaming session first, and the pay goes to your owner.
In GamerHash AI your card picks up AI jobs once you stop playing, and the Earn Module pays you for every one of them. The interviewer and her whole office came from a single MiniMax H3 prompt. H3 also runs locally in the app, so your card can make clips like this for free.
In 2012 Alex Krizhevsky trained AlexNet on two GTX 580 gaming cards in his bedroom at his parents' house, and that model started the deep learning boom.
Fourteen years later AI lives in datacenters the size of small towns, and most people assume it has to stay there.
Training does need those buildings. Most of what AI does every day is running finished models, though, and today's gaming cards can handle that work.
AI started on gaming cards in a bedroom, and GamerHash AI is bringing the work back there.
Most coins get a logo. GHX gets a filmography.
In Creator Studio you write the scene and the GHX symbol plays the lead. It can be an image, a 10-second video or a music track. The music generator holds it to its role, so every lyric has to mention GamerCoin and GHX.
Make something worth posting and tag us. We'll share the best ones.
Breaking Free is hard rock about walking away from a family that tried to control you, built on heavy riffs and a chorus made for singing at full volume.
All it takes on Boppy is a description of the song you want. It writes the lyrics and composes the music, or you can paste in words of your own. Either way it's free.
The track rendered on a GPU in our dePIN network. That card's owner runs the Earn Module in GamerHash AI and got paid for the compute.

Case update: the suspect was released without charges. It's completely legal to run MiniMax H3 on your own graphics card, and in GamerHash AI it's free too.
The witness and the narrator came out of a single prompt. Nobody was interviewed in the making of this documentary.
Crypto has spent years shipping roadmaps. We shipped a receipt.
Anyone can open the Creator Studio, make something with the GamerCoin logo and use it to support their favorite token. That's if you feel like it. It costs $0 and you don't need an account.
Every generation runs as a job on our DePIN, so each meme you post is proof that the network exists outside a whitepaper.
The fine print says 3 generations per hour. After that, you get three more.

Season 5 rewards are out. If you committed GHXP, check your GHX balance in the app.
Season 6 is already open. GHXP left in your balance is like a gift card forgotten in a drawer, because points only turn into GHX once you commit them. Commit up to 80% in the Season window, and when the season ends you get your share of the GHX pool.
You can commit only once per season, so pick your number before you click.
Most talk about the future of AI is about bigger models. Ours is about a solo developer who adds voice and video to an app in one evening, and can still afford to keep them running when users show up.
Everything on deAPI runs on open-source models behind one API key, billed per request. When a better open model comes out, it shows up behind that same key, and the code you wrote last year keeps working.
A 70B model on a 4 GB card does technically run, at about a minute per token. That's usually where a beginner decides local AI is a joke.
GamerHash AI checks your GPU on first launch and only offers models that run well on it. You pick one and get answers at a speed you can actually work with.
This post has 200K+ of views, and this is how local AI gets a bad name.
"Run a 70B model on a 4GB GPU. 405B on 8GB." Yes, AirLLM can do that. It loads 1 layer from disk, computes it, drops it and loads the next. For every single token.
Do the math. A 70B model is about 140GB of weights. To make 1 token you read all of it from disk. On a fast NVMe thats most of a minute per token. A 405B is about 800GB per token. Go make tea. Go make dinner.
"Runs" and "usable" are different words.
Here is usable on a small card today: 27B, 12GB of VRAM, 262K context, 70 tok/s. I measured it on my own 3090 held to 12GB. Weights and engine are public.
Stop telling beginners this works. They try it, wait 10 minutes for 1 sentence and decide local AI is a joke.
Operators are standing by, but you can put the phone down. You already own the product.
MiniMax H3 made this whole infomercial from one prompt, including the presenter, the jingle and the applause. It runs free in GamerHash AI on the graphics card you already have, so the order ships instantly.
Got an idea for GHX content? Type it in a few words and the Creator Studio turns it into an image, a film or a song.
Images: pick one of six starting points and describe your scene. The official GHX logo lands in the picture.
Video: AI turns your idea into a 10-second film in landscape, portrait or square.
Music: choose a sound and write the lyrics yourself or let AI help, and you get a 30-second track. The one rule is that GamerCoin and GHX have to be in the lyrics.
It's free and you don't need an account. Made something good? Drop it in the replies!
