𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐒𝐀𝐃𝐗 At the Africa Digital Public Infrastructure Forum 2026 in Kigali, @Efua_Quaye, Director of Digital Infrastructure, Skills and Empowerment, represented @CEOSmartAfrica, on the roundtable "From Infrastructure to Implementation," moderated by Prof. Njuguna Ndung'u. Africa has DPI strategies in abundance. The task now is delivery. Building the Smart Africa Data Exchange (SADX) has taught us: 🔹 Every country needs a lead institution with a clear mandate, and legal frameworks that let systems trust each other. 🔹 Governments set the rules. Industry brings the standards, solutions and investment. 🔹 Continental coordination should cut duplication. With SADX, each country keeps full control of its systems and data. Benin, Ghana and Rwanda have established initial connectivity in a controlled testing environment. Smart Africa's path runs from policy to blueprints, from blueprints to pilots, and from pilots to bankable projects. #SmartAfrica #DPI #SADX #DigitalTransformation #OneAfrica

Barack Obama is trying to present himself as morally concerned about Palestinian suffering while avoiding responsibility for his own presidential record! Obama should be judged not only by what he says about injustice now, but also by what he did—or failed to do—when he had the power to influence events! #TruthJusticeLove @kbla1580 @tavissmiley

AUC Chairperson Condemns Deadly Drone Attacks in Sudan and the Abyei Area. The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, @ymahmoudali, strongly condemns the recent deadly drone attacks in #Sudan and the #Abyei Area. Media reports citing local and medical sources indicate approximately 80 people killed in Al-Dibab, West Kordofan, on 18 October, 23 in Nyala, South Darfur, on 16 October, and at least three children in Khartoum on 19 October. Separately, reports citing local authorities put the death toll from the 19 October attack on Amiet market in the Abyei Area at more than 150. He deplores the intolerable price civilian populations continue to pay through the loss of loved ones, displacement, destruction of livelihoods and disruption of access to food, healthcare and essential services. Expressing solidarity with the affected communities, he extends his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wishes the injured a speedy recovery. The Chairperson calls on all parties to halt attacks affecting civilians and civilian infrastructure, protect humanitarian and medical personnel, and allow safe, rapid and unhindered humanitarian assistance, in accordance with applicable international law, including international humanitarian law. Reaffirming respect for Sudan’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity, he urges all parties to refrain from actions that fuel the conflict, risk dividing the country or threaten neighbouring States. The Chairperson reaffirms his support for ongoing regional and international mediation efforts and urges coordinated action towards an immediate humanitarian ceasefire and an inclusive Sudanese-led and Sudanese-owned political process. How low can Al Jazeera go? Who exactly is responsible for providing the evidence? What are your journalists being paid to do if not investigate and establish the facts? And, more importantly, were you looking for evidence that the atrocity occurred, or evidence directly linking the SAF to the crime? Those are two very different questions, and any serious journalist should understand the distinction. Al Jazeera, you can, should and MUST do much better than this. #SSOX
BREAKING: At least 73 people were killed and 19 injured in a drone strike on a market in the disputed Abyei region. Caretaker Information Minister Yohana Akol Ngor blamed Sudan's army for the attack, but provided no evidence. 🔴 More on Aljazeera.com

This is how credible monetary policy works. The BoU helped stabilize the UGX by raising the CRR from 11% to 13.5% and the CBR from 9.75% to 12%. These measures are expected to curb credit growth and domestic demand, anchor inflation expectations, and boost confidence in the UGX.
