We give You thanks most of all for the gift of Your Son, Jesus. Please bless the food we eat, all who are gathered today to share it, and all our loved ones who can't be with us today. We ask this as we ask all things, through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Garces Memorial High School mourns the recent passing of our beloved Vince Fanucchi.
Mr. Fanucchi graduated from Garces in 1967 and began teaching and coaching on campus in 1974.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon our brother Vince.
ALT Garces Memorial High School mourns the recent passing of our beloved Vince Fanucchi. Mr. Fanucchi graduated from Garces in 1967 and began teaching and coaching on campus in 1974. Mr. Fanucchi also spent two decades as the athletic director and most recently was the official campus historian until his passing. This is a great loss for the Garces community and he will be dearly missed. The Fanucchi family, including his brother John, have expressed how much Vince loved Garces. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon our brother Vince.
God of peace, we pray that you bless all those who have served their country through service in the armed forces. Grant healing to those veterans who have been wounded, be it in body, mind or soul. We pray especially for those who come home to lives of suffering and loneliness.
Today is a Holy Day of Obligation to honor all saints, known and unknown. Mass attendance is expected for all who are able. Let us pray together in commemorating the special souls of all those who achieved heroic Christian sanctity in their life.
Great story by @Bakersfieldcali reporter Steven Mayer and photos by Rod Thornburg on Mr. Zeimet’s retirement ceremony today.

The sophomore class returned to campus yesterday after an overnight retreat at Three Rivers.
The students stayed at Santa Teresita Youth Center. The separation of the boys and girls on the retreat were full of fun prayer and fellowship.
Aden Gutierrez and Jocelyn Sala received the Kern County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Business Education Foundation scholarship for the 12th annual El Grito de Delores - Mexico’s Independence Day. Congratulations to our Hispanic-Latino Culture Club co-presidents.
Lunch time today was a blast.
In tandem, ASB and the Latina Leaders Club celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month and Foodapalooza together.
With food vendors from all over Bakersfield serving up tasty treats for students while Mariachi Oro y Plata entertained the crowd.

On Friday, Garces Memorial held a Service Fair in the gym.
Juniors on campus were able to meet with representatives from various non-profit organizations to help them give back to those less fortunate in our community.
Garces Memorial was blessed and grateful to have Bishop Brennan celebrate Mass with our student body and faculty on campus today.
A wonderful way to kick off the school year. And what a wonderful surprise by the Bishop to bless our new principal, Ms. Leon at the end of Mass.
And we are back!
Great day on campus welcoming in the Class of 2027 (our largest freshman class in more than a decade), transfer and international students.
