“If you look at the last 11 years, Man Utd has had quite a few coaches…so that would say to me that there’s something wrong with the environment…” Utd co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe speaking to me in Feb 2024 shortly after investing in the club ⬇️

'a plaything' - absolutely not! It's a serious business to them and definitely not 'a plaything'. Bottom line is one invests in the club & Manchester, the other has taken a profitable club and placed it under huge debt. Both are businesses to their owners.
OLIVER HOLT: Man City and Man United fans are saddled with despicable owners who have twisted their great clubs out of shape. One is a plaything, the other a cash cow. These are dark days for Manchesterism in football trib.al/rZtt5S9

Even the shirts tell a story (any keen eyed people noticed the badge?).
I love this photo from the 1950s of two truly important Manchester Corinthians. I called to see Mary (taller player) the other week. She's in her 90s but still talks with a passion about playing football back then. Her story is of course in the book: gjfootballarchive.com/2026/1…

There's so much negativity in football. I see that the seat counters have been getting giddy about empty seats at MUFC now. How can anyone criticise fans of any club for not attending? Football's not cheap and it's often those who don't go that are the most vocal abt empty seats!

Last chance to order and get your name in the updated Manchester Corinthians gjfootballarchive.com/2026/1… When the 1st edition was published 2 years ago it told via the voices of the women there the story of the club from birth to final game for the 1st time. The update builds on that

Not great. Not great at all.
Even the Munich Memorial flame has given up. If Big Jim can't even provide some North Sea gas what hope do we have?

It’s the PL’s own rules, they are made by the owners and turkeys don’t vote for Christmas. Glazers have done well out of United via ⬆️ in value, dividends and mgt payouts, not the other way round.

Do we want owners to invest in football or do we want owners to place profitable clubs into huge debt? The PL currently seems to want the latter. They could easily have introduced rules to control debt, while balancing competition for all (limit spending equally for example)
Since 2005 Premier League clubs have had a total interest cost on borrowings and financial debt of £3.5bn. One club and one set of owners is responsible for 35% of the total. #Glazernomics Figures per @valuball

By some way the highest UK crowd of the day (eclipsing the Glasgow derby too) but a miserable day for MCFC
