Every trader thinks he is reading the trend. a Belgian mathematician proved he is usually reading noise from the wrong timescale, and it is why the signal dies the moment real money is on it.
her field is wavelets. the idea is cold and simple: a price is never one wave. it is fast noise and slow trend tangled into the same line. Fourier can tell you which waves are in there. hers tells you which, and exactly when.
that "when" is the whole game. a Fourier transform smears a volatility spike across the entire chart. a wavelet pins the exact bar the regime flipped.
