Interesting way to calculate the tariffs charged percentage. This way, even countries without tariffs on US goods can easily be hit with a “retaliatory” tariff.
The stupidity of this is unreal…
this is…incredibly stupid
eu: $235.6bn surplus, $605.8bn exports, 235.6/605.8 = 39% claimed tariffs charged
indonesia: $17.9bn surplus, $28.1bn exports, 17.9/28.1 = 64% claimed tariffs charged
india: $45.7bn surplus, $87.4bn exports, 45.7/87.4 = 52% claimed tariffs charged
vietnam: $123.5bn surplus, $136.6 exports, 123.5/136.6 = 90% claimed tariffs charged
which explains why the “tariffs charged to the usa” column looked made up.

De geplande meerwaardebelasting is een belasting op het pensioen van kleine beleggers.
Op korte termijn zal de belasting worden betaald door (relatief) grotere vermogens, maar op de lange termijn raakt zo’n belasting iedereen omdat de component meerwaarden (versus inleg) exponentieel stijgt.
Een voorbeeld: na 40 jaar elke maand €500 te beleggen aan een rendement van 10% per jaar, bestaat je portefeuille voor 91% uit meerwaarden en 9% uit je eigen inleg.
Wie dan elke maand wat verkoopt (als extra pensioen) moet 10% afgeven. Tegen dan zal de meerwaardebelasting ook al stap per stap opgetrokken zijn - ik gok naar ongeveer 50%, in lijn met de belastingen op arbeid.
Tussenstop voor het tarief van deze nieuwe belasting zal binnen een paar jaar 30% zijn “om de belasting op meerwaarden gelijk te brengen aan de belasting op dividenden”).
