The Marriage of Imam Ahmad Bin Hanbal رحمه الله
When Imam Ahmed Bin Hanbal's رحمه الله wife passed away he said:
"Wallahi I lived with her for 40 years and we didn't argue once."
He was asked how?
He replied,
It says in al-Funun, ‘The Ka’ba is more virtuous than the chamber itself, but as for the chamber with the Prophet ﷺ within it, then by Allah, neither the Ka’ba, nor the Throne, nor its bearers, nor Paradise are more virtuous;
Al-Buhuti said:
“Allah has not created anything more honorable to Him than our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, as indicated by obvious proofs. As for the earth of his ﷺ grave, it is not more virtuous than the Ka’ba; rather, the Ka’ba is more virtuous than it.

Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said :
“Allah, the Most High, mentioned in the Qur’an: the beautiful abandonment, the beautiful pardoning, and the beautiful patience.
It has been said that the beautiful abandonment is: abandoning someone without causing harm.

Shaykh al-Islām Abū al-ʿAbbās Ibn Taymīyyah writes in his book, al-Ajwibah al-Miṣrīyyah:
“Shaykh al-Islām is well-known and revered by the people. He was an Imām in Hadith, tasawwuf and tafsīr.

Ibn Taymiyyah said :
Anyone who attaches his heart to created beings, expecting them to support him, provide for him, or guide him, will find his heart subjugated to them and will experience a degree of servitude to them equivalent to that attachment,
Abdullah (ibn Ahmad) said:
“My father was the most patient of people with solitude. He said: No one ever saw my father except in a mosque, attending a funeral, or visiting a sick person. He disliked walking through the marketplaces.”
Abū al-Qāsim ʿAbd al-Wāḥid b. ʿAbd al-Salām b. al-Wāthiq said:
I heard from some of the righteous, who said:
A righteous person was seen in a dream, and it was said to him: "What did Allāh do with you?"
He replied: "He forgave me."
He was then asked: "Who did you find to be the majority of the people of Paradise?"
He said: "The followers of al-Shāfiʿī."
He was then asked: "Where are the followers of Aḥmad b. Ḥanbal?"
He replied: "You asked me about the majority of the people of Paradise,

Abū Dāwūd asked Imām Ahmad:
"If I see a man from the Ahl al-Sunnah walking or sitting with a man of innovation, should I abandon speaking to him (atruku kalāmah)?"
(And beating the duff at a circumcision, the arrival of an absent person, and similar occasions), such as a birth (and a wedding), because of the joy therein.
(And every amusement instrument other than the duff is prohibited, such as a mizmar, tanbur, rabab, jank, nay, maʿzafah,
; that is, they recite tahlil (saying la ilaha illa Allah) and repeat the voice in recitation and other than it. They were called by that name because they encourage people toward striving for the Everlasting Abode.”
