Ambassador @mmukasine participated as a panelist in AFRI CONVERSE 2026 #4, held in Kobe and co-organized by @UNDP and JICA under the theme “From Participation to Leadership: Women Shaping Governance and Peacebuilding.” Ambassador @mmukasine highlighted Rwanda’s experience and ongoing efforts to advance women’s participation and leadership in governance and public decision-making.
The dialogue featured remarks by the Director-General for the African Affairs Department, MOFA; the Director a.i., Regional Bureau for Africa, UNDP; Senior Advisor on Gender and Development, JICA; the Deputy Director-General, Africa Department, JICA; and an Assistant Professor at the University of Osaka.
The exchange reaffirmed the importance of Africa–Japan cooperation in learning from one another to empower women leaders and advance inclusive governance and sustainable peace.

At the ELP Cohort 6 Bootcamp, Umutoni Gatsinzi Nadine, Chief Gender Monitor at @GenderMonitorRw , engaged scholars on digital responsibility, preventing online harassment and gender-based violence, and building positive, respectful relationships.
She challenged scholars to use social media responsibly, stand against abuse, protect others’ dignity and embrace integrity, discipline and accountability. The session also highlighted the role young people play in shaping a generation where respect and safety are everyone’s responsibility.
Because leadership is not only about the influence you have, but how you choose to use it.
