A record number of complaints were made against police last year, new figures from the official watchdog show. The Independent Office for Police Conduct said there was a 15% surge, bringing the number recorded between April last year & the end of March to 108,897 in England & Wales. This is the first time the total has surpassed 100k & there’s been a 61% increase in since 2020-21. The IOPC claim the jump isn’t solely to increased dissatisfaction in policing but forces are now better at recording & handling complaints.👮‍♂️😏
