Who else is planning to homeschool? One of the biggest lies parents have been sold is that raising your kids and educating your kids are somehow two separate jobs. They’re not. If your child spends most of his waking hours in a building where God is left out, biblical morality is treated like an embarrassment, and whatever the culture currently believes gets presented as “normal,” then that school is helping shape your child whether you admit it or not. Public schools are not neutral. Nothing involving children ever is. They are teaching your kids what to believe about family, sex, authority, history, right and wrong, and even what a human being is. A lot of modern schools have become brainwash factories with math class mixed in. The message is often simple: trust the institution, question your parents, ignore tradition, and accept whatever new belief gets handed down from above. No thanks. Homeschooling gives parents the chance to take that responsibility back. You can teach your children that God is real, truth is real, men and women are different, marriage matters, family matters, hard work matters, personal responsibility matters, and freedom comes with duties. You can teach history without pretending faith had no role in civilization. You can teach science without acting like creation is meaningless. You can teach your children to think instead of just repeat. And they can actually live while they learn. Let them garden. Let them cook. Let them build things. Let them care for animals. Let them work beside you. Let them spend time with grandparents. Let them read good books instead of sitting under fluorescent lights for seven hours a day waiting for a bell to ring. I would rather my children grow up knowing how to think, work, pray, build, question, create, and care for a family than become really good at passing standardized tests. God gave children to parents, not to institutions. Raise them accordingly.

The Overton Window in the United States:
This was actually a really gross ad. Tacky doesn't even begin to cover it. I already didn't care for Vivek. Now I think he should be booted out of our country.

While the markets favor Democrats to win both Senate (65%) and House (90%), people who correctly predicted Trump to win in 2024 are very bullish on Republicans this cycle. Is this the Trump effect, or is it structural?

🚨 New docs obtained by PPT show the Biden administration wanted to expand its “misinformation” suppression campaign far beyond COVID. Former Surgeon General Vivek Murthy’s office pushed to target all “health and medical misinformation” and wanted to “more broadly … get[] at the issue of how social media impacts people.” If asked whether censorship of Big Tech was cancel culture, his prepared answer was, “No, it’s the opposite actually,” even claiming it would ensure people had “more access” to information. A memo to Murthy’s “Misinformation Tiger Team” proposed a “maximum pressure” campaign against technology companies, while acknowledging the effort could “politicize[] [the] office by further engaging in social media/censorship war.” They also took a victory lap over Twitter’s suspension of a member of Congress. Other documents reveal talking points the Surgeon General was given to address questions about vaccines and the spread of COVID: - Guidance for “tough Q&A” listed “Talking about vaccine safety concerns” and “Providing minute details on the specifics of the FDA approval process” as topics to avoid. - The memo said to lecture Americans who had not received the shot, “If you are unvaccinated, you present a problem to yourself, family, and those with whom you work,” and also assert that “vaccine requirements will stop the spread of variants.” - States were told to “get out of the way” if they wouldn’t require masking in schools and parents were instructed to “have your kids wear masks.” Meanwhile, an internal email acknowledged that team members had been “unilaterally focused on misinformation” for two to four weeks and needed to “walk and chew gum” to “drive some additional priorities,” suggesting concern that other responsibilities were being sidelined. The reasons for the massive decline of public trust in health officials are reflected in these documents.

One of the handiest use cases for Grok has been to translate research and studies from other languages For example, I grow a lot of jujube fruit trees in my orchard (and they're originally from China) and being able to translate research from Mandarin to English is instrumental
