I never understood the demonization of 98% purity products, especially if they are >~98.5%. There are many very high quality products that test in that ballpark that are sought after to extremes. Even underfills can be communicated and handled.
I genuinely don’t understand why overfilled peptide vials are such a huge controversy, as long as vendors are transparent about it. But there are a few important caveats.
1. Transparency should go beyond the COA.
If a product is overfilled or underfilled by more than 10%, I want that information prominently displayed in the product title or description. Not buried somewhere in a COA that most customers probably won’t even read.
With some peptides, a 20% overfill might not be a big deal. With others, like HGH, it absolutely matters. Customers should know what they’re getting, particularly when that information affects dosing.
If a vial is underfilled by more than 10%, I believe a discount is warranted. You’re delivering less than what was advertised.
If it’s overfilled by 10–20% or more? That’s the vendor’s call. They can relabel the product, charge accordingly, or simply give customers the extra amount as a bonus.
I’ve personally purchased overfilled vials without paying anything extra. I certainly wasn’t complaining.
