Sound designers, editors & re-recording mixers are really “sound collage illusionists”. We take audio from different sources, timeframes, geographical locations, weave them together in seamless ways & create new sonic tapestries to tell stories

Rewatching Twin Peaks: Return and I cannot believe some people accused Lynch of trolling his audience with long takes and musical codas. Every strange beat is perfectly timed for comedic impact and for capturing what it feels like to be a dreamer stuck in a dream.
Glad to see that “BUDDY” is getting some love across the pond
Tonight’s movie! Stellar sound work by the talented gent that is @GiganticCranium !

I was happy to write a little something about my friend and colleague Richard Riehle for Variety.

This is a good reminder…
Sound designer & re-recording mixer Charles Maynes agrees that AI can't match human creative thinking, but will that matter if our creative work is seen simply as a disposable commodity.
It’s an important topic regarding the future of our craft

We certainly put a lot of THWIPS & other ear candy into S2 of #YourFriendlyNeighborhoodSpiderman. Thanks to @MrJeffTrammell & our friends at Marvel for having us back. Our @skywalkersound team carefully crafted the sonic storytelling on each episode. Just gotta wait until January
Josephine is a remarkable film. Incredible performances & showcases San Francisco in a different light. I went into it cold & I’m glad I did. This is a film I won’t stop thinking about for quite a while
NEW: 'JOSEPHINE' is one of the best films of 2026, delivering a harrowing and timely drama led by an extraordinary Mason Reeves performance.

The Sprocket Systems crew for Star Wars: Return of the Jedi gather in early 1983, whilst they were busily underway completing the last film in the original Star Wars trilogy. This shot was taken in front of the recently completed C Building at Lucasfilm's Kerner facility in San Rafael, which was purpose built for the sound and picture editors of Sprockets, as well as artists from Industrial Light & Magic and scientists from the Lucasfilm Computer Division. Within just a handful of years, C Building would see the births of the THX Sound System, the EditDroid and SoundDroid non-linear editing machines, and the Pixar Image Computer.
This film is close to my heart. Working with @beckandwoods on this was an incredible experience. I made so many unsettling sounds for the haunted house & had way too much fun. Check it out & crank up the volume!
Tis the season to watch @beckandwoods Haunt. For the first time or the umpteenth time! Made by a bunch of proper nerds, & one of the best times of my life.
Except maybe the daily head shaving.
Currently available on its first home, @Shudder.

The film world lost a legend today... Foley artist, Pete Burgis. He contributed sounds to nearly 400 films including Children of Men, Ex Machina, Fantastic Mr. Fox & Hot Fuzz. Watch & listen to some of Pete’s brilliant work in this short film youtu.be/f78yF33k3ts?si=U0m7…
If you told me a year ago that a low budget film that I was about to work on was going to be so popular that a sing-a-long version would come out, I would’ve thought you were crazy. And here we are 🤣 Go experience BUDDY in theaters & sing loud & proud!
Hey fellow Soundies! A few months ago I came across a post about a plug-in that can oscillate the parameters of other plugins. For example make Fab-Filter ProQ4 have rhythmic rises & drops at a certain frequency. I can’t remember the name of it. Any ideas?
Cinematic magic is more likely to happen when you involve key creatives during pre-production like your composer. Don’t wait to think about music & sound until the end of production. Invite your post collaborators to the table at the beginning. This film is an example of that
