ALT Hiya pals! It will come as no surprise that Teviot Row House in Bristo Square holds a very special place in our hearts, as well as the hearts of countless performers, promoters and audiences who attend the Fringe each year. While we are obviously gutted at the news that it will not reopen in time for Fringe 2025 as planned, we understand the necessity of the work being done to ensure that it continues to provide modern, accessible facilities from 2026 onwards.

ALT Today, we are thrilled to confirm a three-year partnership with the Edinburgh University Students’ Association, allowing us to not only return to Teviot in 2026 but also host shows in alternative spaces in close proximity to Teviot in 2025, alongside our venue hubs at the National Museum of Scotland and Patter House. We are extremely excited to reveal more information on these spaces in the coming months and can’t wait to bring our signature Gilded Balloon magic back to the area, which was dearly missed in 2024.

ALT We look forward to presenting an unmissable programme of live entertainment for you, our wonderful audiences, who continue to support the festival and make it such a vibrant celebration each year. To all the performers out there, applications will be opening to perform at Fringe 2025 soon - we can’t wait to see the stories and talents you have in store! Rest assured, the show will go on! Team Gilded Balloon x
