Earlier this year, the 2-airbag Toyota Starlet scored zero stars for adult occupant protection.
After being upgraded to 6 airbags as standard, it has now achieved 4 stars in Global NCAP testing.

In May the Toyota Starlet got a shocking zero star rating in South Africa. Toyota wouldn't volunteer for our #SaferCarsforAfrica tests, so we bought the updated model anonymously and are testing it anyway.
Will it be a Zero or a Hero?
We'll share the results later this year.
