People like this make me sick, regardless of their skin colour or heritage.
Britain was a major beneficiary of the transatlantic slave trade and it paid slave owners when emancipation was finally granted after hundreds of rebellions and an abolitionist movement sprang up.
The British Empire built its wealth on slavery. We were taught CXC History too.
You can’t have an honest conversation with people who aren’t honest about history.

That this government is abducting 20 year olds- young people who have not even lived half as long as it has ruled, is what should worry all of us. Such patterns, if unchecked, never end well.

Sometimes you see young people commenting in support of violent groups and acts like abduction and torture, and you wonder whether they really understand what they’re doing to themselves. Tomorrow they might want to apply for some international big opportunities. These days, before making a decision, many institutions first conduct thorough background checks, including social media footprints, on applicants. Even if you delete afterwards, often somehow traces remain. I’m particularly looking at young people who have a long future ahead of them, but destroying their resumes in pursuit of momentary gains. The world quietly watches and keeps receipts.

🇬🇭 “Africa Gives The World $240 Billion, But Receives Just $30 Billion In Aid” – Mahama
Ghanaian President John Mahama has challenged the global financial system, arguing that Africa loses far more wealth to the world than it receives in foreign aid.
Speaking in New York, he blamed illicit financial flows, expensive loans and debt repayments, calling for a fairer financial system that allows Africa to keep and invest more of its money.
When is the African Union going to take steps to end this situation.

She is right. Europe has long minimized its own colonial atrocities like the millions who died and the mutilations under Leopold in the Congo while pushing narratives that Africa is permanently helpless. Adichie called that out correctly.
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie stunned her Berlin audience by challenging WESTERN NARRATIVES about Africa, accusing Europe of overlooking its own COLONIAL ATROCITIES while portraying Africans as people in need of constant assistance.
She specifically highlighted KING LEOPOLD II's brutal exploitation of CONGO, where MILLIONS died and countless people suffered horrific MUTILATIONS under forced RUBBER production.

This is one story that continually reminds me of the power of staying true to a God-given vision, Pastor Nathaniel Bassey and the Hallelujah Challenge in 2020
Never despise the beginning of a vision because it lacks the applause of men. Stay committed to what God has placed in your heart, because when purpose is pursued with consistency, time will eventually announce what started in obscurity.

Ghana 🇬🇭 President John Mahama says the stolen wealth of African countries via slavery is what the West still uses today to shape the global economy.
"Don’t tell me that if I stole your watch and later passed it on to my heir, it’s no longer a stolen item simply because the heir didn’t physically commit the theft.
"It remains stolen property."

Cardi B has spoken about the fatal shooting of 15-year-old Ghanaian boy Javits Frimpong in New York.
The rapper addressed the incident during an Instagram Live after Javits was shot dead while heading to school in the Bronx.
Cardi, who is from the Bronx herself, also talked about the bullying that kids especially African and immigrant children can face at school, and she urged parents to teach their children kindness from a young age.
Javits had reportedly moved from Ghana to New York about a year earlier.
His death has left his family and the community devastated as police continue to investigate the shooting.

In my own words I caution that the finite nature of extractives resources calls for laws, regulations and provision of long-term plans and resources necessary to responsibly decommission projects at the end of the life of projects.
