The Mayor of London and the British Muslim Trust are backing Islamophobia Awareness Month, a campaign co-founded by the Muslim Engagement and Development Group (MEND). Successive governments have followed a policy of non-engagement with MEND since 2009 because of its extremist views. The FSU has also exposed links between all five members of the Working Group tasked with drafting the “anti-Muslim hostility” definition and Islamist organisations, including MEND. Sadiq Khan posted on X: “This Islamophobia Awareness Month, we must shine a light on the abhorrent hatred and discrimination Muslims continue to face”. Why are the Mayor of London and a taxpayer-funded NGO promoting a campaign whose co-founder has been cited in Parliament for its “Islamist orientation and views”? Genuine hatred of Muslims should not be tolerated. But silencing legitimate criticism of Islam through the “anti-Muslim hostility” definition is not the answer. Existing laws already protect people from discrimination based on their religious beliefs. As Fiyaz Mughal writes in The Telegraph: “The sad reality is that having a month-long campaign pushing the message that things are bad for Muslims in Britain does not help integration. Instead, it adds to the narrative of Islamist extremists.” Read more below in @Telegraph 👇

Anti-white racism is prevalent and must be acknowledged and dealt with @ZiaYusufUK - it lead to Henry Nowak’s murder.
Anti-white racism is embedded in our institutions. It must end.

Why isn’t this in MSM? @SpeechUnion Thank goodness for X @elonmusk The only place for real news.
The Free Speech Union exposed that all five members of the Working Group tasked with drafting the official definition of Islamophobia had troubling links to Islamist organisations, including the Muslim Council of Britain and MEND. The Working Group held a consultation so people could help shape what became the “anti-Muslim hostility” definition. Given the public interest, the FSU asked which groups and individuals had been consulted. Shadow Justice Secretary Nick Timothy submitted a Freedom of Information request. The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) replied that it had deleted all the responses — in what appears to be against the Government’s own data policy. The FSU then threatened Angela Rayner’s department with legal action. Now the department’s most senior civil servant says the responses do exist and remain on its data system, but the department will not disclose who was consulted. So what is going on? Were we told the responses had been deleted to conceal the fact that Islamist extremists had the chance to influence the definition? We are now told that an Islamophobia tsar will be announced imminently. Given Rayner and her department’s record, who on earth could it be?

Andy Burnham has met Muslim community leaders in Downing Street and accused his political rivals of using “unacceptable” language when discussing Islam. This is not the first time senior Labour politicians have accused their political opponents of crossing the line when discussing Islam, its history and its practices. Labour MPs have repeatedly branded opposition politicians who criticise Islam “Islamophobic”. Earlier this year, 26 Labour MPs reported Reform UK to the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) over its comments about Islam. Labour MPs also reported the Conservative Shadow Justice Secretary, Nick Timothy, to the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards and accused him of being “Islamophobic”. He even faced calls for his sacking from the then Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, after criticising a mass Muslim prayer event in Trafalgar Square. In a free country where blasphemy laws were abolished 18 years ago, politicians and private citizens must be free to criticise, question and debate any religion — including Islam. But that was not the only revelation to emerge from the Downing Street meeting. It has been reported that Angela Rayner told Muslim community leaders she was preparing to announce the appointment of an “anti-Muslim hostility” tsar. Given that Rayner appointed five individuals to the Working Group tasked with drafting the “anti-Muslim hostility” definition, all of whom had troubling links to Islamist organisations, and that her department falsely claimed to have deleted all responses to its consultation on the definition, who on earth will she appoint? Diversity barriers @London_W4 because they strengthen us!
And now I’m here on Oxford Street, London on my way to this morning’s photoshoot and admiring the newly installed allahu akbarriers, just in time to keep Christmas shoppers safe from Muslims with mental health issues who want to drive into pedestrians and kill them.

This is not going away @AngelaRayner @SpeechUnion
Hey @AngelaRayner, can you confirm whether Islamist extremists helped shape the “anti-Muslim hostility” definition? If not, why did your department say it had deleted all responses to the Working Group’s consultation, only to later admit — after the Free Speech Union threatened legal action — that it still had them on record? The public deserves to know the truth and this stinks of a cover up.

This is awful, terrible state of affairs and our country. What has weak leadership done to us? @SpeechUnion
🚨 “I feel like I’m still in Iraq” — this is how bad the situation is in the UK. Asylum seekers who fled religious persecution in Islamic countries for freedom in Britain are now considering claiming asylum elsewhere, because they continue to be persecuted here for criticising Islam. Dheyaa — a former Muslim who converted to Christianity — fled religious persecution in Iraq and came to Britain. Exercising what he thought was his new-found freedom, he burned a copy of the Koran in symbolic protest against the ideology that had persecuted him. Rather than protecting his right to free speech and protest, West Yorkshire Police swiftly arrested him on suspicion of inciting religious hatred. He was then handed Orwellian bail conditions banning him from discussing religion on social media. The Free Speech Union stepped in, defending Dheyaa’s right to free speech and helping him secure the removal of those bail conditions. Earlier this year, before the Government unveiled its Islamophobia definition, FSU Case Director @BenBarryJones asked Dheyaa what he made of the prospect. Dheyaa said he felt as though he was still in Iraq, and that he would look to flee the UK. Hamit Coskun, another asylum seeker who burned a copy of the Koran in protest against the persecution he faced in Turkey, also considered fleeing to the US after he was convicted of a public order offence. Shockingly, the CPS had originally charged him for harassing “the religious institution of Islam”, long before the Government had any state-approved definition of “Islamophobia”. With the FSU’s backing, Hamit’s conviction was overturned on appeal. The CPS then tried to reinstate it at the High Court, and lost again. The last thing Britain needs is a state-approved Islamic blasphemy code. One is already operating. Watch the full interview with Dheyaa on the FSU YouTube channel 👇

This community note is astonishing @MayorofLondon you are a complete fraud @SadiqKhan
Replying to @MayorofLondon
Let me be absolutely clear: anyone who targets Londoners because of their faith will be held to account. I'll continue working with the Met Police and partners to tackle faith-based hate crime, such as Islamophobia, protect our communities and ensure there is zero tolerance for this kind of prejudice in our city.

bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan… 4 men were recorded chanting antisemitic slurs threatening murder and rape. The vehicle was tracked and the occupants arrested. Despite all of the evidence, the case was dropped by the CPS. They targeted Londoners based on their faith. They were not held to account.
