It's here. Go Lopes Radio Digital Magazine: Volume 1, is available NOW at golopesradio.com. We didn't want to do just another season preview, so we put together nearly 100 pages of curated and hand-written content. Season recaps through my eyes, @blakedfs_ player scouts, a season preview with every opponent, and more. I hope you consider supporting us as we head into this new college basketball season!

We also spoke with Dylan Darling (who made his formal GCU debut), and already fan favorite Amarion Dickerson after the game. "I really hate when people score on me. When I get scored on, it feels like the world ends for me" youtube.com/watch?v=JxNvSofS…

We spoke with Head Coach Bryce Drew after tonight's win over Texas Southern. "We had some really good segments. Some of guys have shot it better in practice, now we need to see it carry over to the game" youtube.com/watch?v=Xy1NcAcc…

There it is, Lopes open the season with a big win. Texas Southern hung around but GCU eventually took over. They win 103 to 79. Mar: 12 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds Henley: 22 points, 5 rebounds Darling: 15 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists Onto Bethune Cookman this Saturday!

Just an innocent bystander here, but wow the refs are involved. A ton of fouls, still nearly 5 minutes of game time to go.

Amarion Dickerson takes a hard fall on a contest at the rim, he is grabbing his calf. He is heading over to get looked at by the trainers.

An issue again tonight: Tyler Behrend and the fouls. He's got 4 fouls in only 11 minutes of play. He's been effective, but limited in spurts due to the fouling.

Back and forth start the the 2nd half. Mar continues to impress, and we got our first Blake Barkley 3. Lopes up 57-43 and in control of the game at the moment.

GCU leads 48-37 at the end of the first half! Below is the GCU side of the box score:

Amarion Dickerson, the do it all guy, is filling it up in the scoring column tonight. He's got 10 points, and as I am typing this has an incredible block. THEN blocks a corner 3. What a freak!

It was another slow start here at GCU Arena, but now the Lopes get a much needed 6-0 run, with the damage getting done in transition. They look much more comfortable out in space. GCU 28 Texas Southern 24, 7:47 left.

Great result if you are a GCU fan... Memphis Tigers take out number 18 ranked Iowa State, and that is without their big who is serving a 6 game suspension. GCU takes on Memphis @ the Fedex Forum next month!

Coming out of the break, fun lineup here: Micah Tucker, Caleb Shaw, Amarion Dickerson, Jaden Henley, and Efe Demirel.

5 early turnovers from GCU, and we are only at the under 16 of the first half. Way more movement than the exhibition, but still some sloppiness.

Dylan Darling gets a steal, turns it over on the throw ahead. Steps in and takes a charge on Texas Southern's big guy. Lopes ball up 6-0!

GCU's season begins with... A Dylan Darling corner 3. We are off and running!

Tonight's starters for the Lopes: Dylan Darling Tre Holloman Jaden Henley Blake Barkley Tyler Behrend GCU back on the court, we are only a few minutes from the start of the 2026/2027 season!

Per Head Coach Bryce Drew, Makaih Williams was a game time decision and didn't practice leading up to the game. Looks like he won't go tonight.

Dylan Darling getting ready for his debut in purple and white! The priority of the offseason looks to come in and steady the ship offensively for the Lopes. 20 min out from tip!

Caleb Shaw, Jaden Zimmerman, Dylan Darling all dressed and out warming up full go with 30 minutes until tip. Still no signs from Skillings. New to the report: Makaih Williams is not dressed and not going through warmups.

Midday, day 1 Mountain West overreactions? San Jose State looks good, and has some serious offensive pop (and Parsha Goodarzi isn't even playing). Youssouf Traore on UTEP will be a really tough guard for anybody.
