I agree 100% with Bronwen. Check out her article. And here's a link to my stuff on 1 Timothy 2:15 and the "saved through childbearing" phrase. margmowczko.com/tag/1-timoth…

When male pastors call on us to recover something called “biblical manhood” I suspect they're not thinking of the silent, loyal Joseph submitting himself humbly to his wife’s God-given calling. [Image by Matt Chinworth]

I heard someday recently that, being a woman in a complemantarian church is learning that the cross didn't mean as much for women as it did for men. This is the problem.

The Bible explicitly endorses women preaching in church. In the NT, prophecy is preaching inspired by the Holy Spirit. The NT affirms female prophets (Acts 2:17, 21:8-9) and gives instructions for both women and men prophesying publicly in church (1 Cor 11).

🧵 1. Some suggest that because Priscilla didn’t teach in a church meeting in Acts 18, her correction of Apollos’s teaching doesn’t serve as a precedent for women teaching in church services today.

"Nothing was said of the subjection of woman before the fall. … Christ came to repair the ruin wrought by the fall. In Him, and in Him only, is Paradise restored. The Gospel belongs to woman as much as to man" B.T. Roberts, Ordaining Women, chapter 5, (1891)

"Either I had to change my view of everything in the Bible about women, from the OT to the NT, in order to preserve my interpretation of 1 Timothy 2, or I had to change to my interpretation of 1 Timothy 2 to fit with what was happening pretty much everywhere else in the Bible."

Got to deliver my lecture on the Bible’s message of gender equality tonight. Not every student has an epiphany, but, without fail, each time I present I get to watch light bulbs go on as the Spirit uses the Scriptures to set women free. It’s always a holy moment. #lovemyjob

Thank you to the men who stand up for women in ministry. Thank you for defending us in conversation. Thank you for making places for us at the table. Thank you for continuing on, even when it's easier not to. Thank you for hearing us, and for your willingness to grow.

Here is Broadus getting right to the point — if Southern Baptists surrender our doctrine and beliefs, there is no reason to be Baptist.

“It is hard to say why Huldah’s story is obscure, except that we have made it so by ignoring it. God used Huldah’s prophecy in a powerful way. Her work was followed by the most thorough religious renewal in the entire history of Judah.” ow.ly/Il8g30qWPmi

The first person in scripture to name God is Hagar. A woman. Single mother. African slave. She says “I have seen the one who sees me.” God calls her by name. Abram and Sarai do not. God has a way of exalting the vulnerable.

"Complain about charismatic chaos all you like, but the Spirit is blowing across the world and there is no putting the Spirit back in the Eurocentric bottle. The future of the global church is going to be Pentecostal, African and Asian, and predominantly female." Agree?

Jesus sacrificed himself for others and used his miraculous power to serve others; he taught his followers to do the same. It's not about what we can get out of Jesus. It's about how we can be like him.

We don’t talk about Abigail in the Bible enough. A wise voice of reason intervening between two prideful, hot-headed men.

Jesus was interested in the lives of women. He treated them with respect & dignity. He engaged them in conversations. He asked them questions and he gave them answers. He called them by name and accepted them as disciples. #IWD2020 #InternationalWomensDay margmowczko.com/jesus-and-wo…
